I've been looking into getting a mirrorless rangefinder-form camera but I can't shell out a lot of money, so I found these 3 options that are within the budget I have. I tried finding comparisons & reviews but none were helpful, especially for the E-PL6. Background info: I'm not a photography beginner; I've been doing photography & using an SLR for years, but I'm looking for something that is more portable, so I do understand the technical differences between the cameras but the problem is...
I'm looking to replace my trusty Canon S2, even though it's still going strong and provide good enough results (for me). But after 10 years and 33000 clicks, I think it's time to retire it plus I want to climb up a notch... Been wanting a DSLR for years now but there was always more important things pulling the budget strings. But now I think it can be a possibility. What I want a camera for: For enthusiast use (non-pro) Outside, nature, animals, car shows Interior, kids, family Eventually...
I have what I must imagine is a complete beginner question, which is probably reasonable since I'm pretty much brand new to serious photography. I have had some experience on a Canon T1i, which is relevant to my question regarding a Sony NEX-5T I've recently bought. I have never seen the following that I am aware of on the old Canon T1i, which is what makes me question it on the NEX-5T. Bear with me, I'm sure I'm not up on proper jargon. It seems to me that when I take some photos with the...
I'm considering the Manfrotto Compact Light as a simple, cheap, compact tripod for my Nex 5R. I like the look of it and it seems to fold down to 40cm which will be good for stashing in my backpack on holiday for the odd occasion I'll want it. It also comes with a Nex 5R/5T specific adapter to deal with the limited flat area around the tripod mount. I don't know if this is a serious issue and reflects a problem with this specific tripod or the camera. If its the latter would I have...
i am an absolute noob in photography,so if something offends you,i am sorry in advance..I am thinking about buying a sony mirrorless camera (a5100/a5000/nex 5r/Nex 5T) but i also want a prime lens with it. i was thinking about going for a cheap manual 35mm full frame lens(f1.4-f1.8) EF/FX mount and use it with a basic adapter(so i get 52.5mm) and a speed booster/speed master(you get the idea)(35mm). i am not particularly excited about the smart adapters as they are expensive. so i want a...
Hi, I recently got my girlfriend a nex-5t with kit lens. I also ordered a 50mm 1.8 OSS which comes in today. I was looking into the shaped cases(link below) for her but all I have seen say it's for the 16-50mm lens. I dont know if the 50mm 1.8 OSS would fit. If anyone has this combo and has one of these cases or similar, coud youtell me what model you use? I appreciate any help I can...
The problem I am having is one I have never had with any mirrorless camera before my newly acquired a6000. I do not have this problem with my NEX 6 nor my NEX5R. Or, with my OMD. I have scoured the online 400+ page manual and can't find the setting I am looking for. I am hoping it hasn't been deactivating in the a6000. Here's the "problem": With the a6000 I seem unable to choose which of the three viewing screens it will default to in "auto review". [Yes, I know I can toggle through each of...
Looking for an upgrade to my Nex C3 (18-55 kit lens). The Nex 5T has a new lower price (due to becoming discontinued) and seems like a natural upgrade. But, the kit lens 16-50 has great size/weight but seems to have quite a few problems. The samsung NX300 looks similar and slightly better, both software and lens wise, but i can only seem to find it (in my country) with the 18-55 kit lens which is too bulky, or the 20-50 which is limited and has no OIS. I'd rather have the 16-50. I'm skipping...
