I'm thinking of buying either an H-Alpha converted A7, or A6000 soon to replace my NEX5R, I might buy a non converted A7II instead. I was wondering if anyone knows if the H-Alpha filter conversion resolves the sensor reflection issue on the A7?

I wonder if you peeps can recommend me a good film look lens for the NEX 5R. It wouldn't hurt if it would be usable with a FF Sony camera as I suspect I will upgrade to one in the future. "Film look" is probably a bit broad, basically it's anything that would make the footage more professional. I've managed some decent looking stuff in post with Vegas but I want to know what my options are. I have an adapter for Canon EF and would be fine with getting other adapters if that is any help. I'd...

I was trying to update my timelapse app on NEX-5R today and this update error #900 pops up everytime I'm done installing. Anyway to get around this? --http://www.flickr.com/photos/kevinwlyu/

I know that these have been around for a while, but didn't know if they'd be too slow in terms of writing speed and transferring photos to phones. I have a NEX-5R which has an app that allows me to transfer photos but it's way too slow (takes at least a minute to connect it with the phone app and another to transfer). Any recommendations for good ones? --http://www.flickr.com/photos/kevinwlyu/

Hi guys I am doing a gap year next year, we are travelling to South America & Iceland & Asia. I have a Nex 5R with 16-50mm pancake zoom, sigma 30mm f2.8, sigma 19mm f2.8. I find that I am missing a zoom lens, so I am thinking of adding a 55mm-200mm lens to my collection. Since my Nex 5R is 3 years old, I am wondering if it will be worth me upgrading to a A5100 (to decrease the size of the camera) or get a A6000. Will it make a dramatic difference in image quality? I have considered about...

I have been looking for a backpack - or a smaller shoulder bag - for my tripod, my camera with lens and an additional lens. My tripod is really compact (32 cm or 12,6 inches) and I have a NEX-5R, so I really don't want to carry a huge case. I am mainly shooting the 1670 but still want to bring the Samyang 12mm, the sony 50m or another prime to compliment the 1670. I've seen this: http://www.thephoblographer.com/2011/10/15/review-the-urban-quiver-camera-bag/#.VXCmV_ntlBd and rather like the...

My NEX-5R recently failed. I ended up replacing with an NEX-5T because there was a special on where I could get it new with the EVF included for the same price as a used NEX-6. I'll probably be adding a second body at some point, though, which will probably be from the 6 series. I'm looking at getting a microphone because I was wanting to shoot some interviews, but the have different ports. Is there any way to adapt the smart accessory microphone to the hot shoe or vice-versa?

I would like to purchase a 135mm F/2.0 full frame compatible lens for my APS-C camera, but I read that on an APS-C camera, this lens gives a 35mm focal length equivalence of 202.5mm. To give a depth of field effect similar to 135 F/2.0 on a full frame camera, should I instead purchase a 85mm F/1.4, since that will give a focal length equivalence of 127mm (much nearer to 135mm)? Thank you in advance for any help! Camera info: Sony NEX-5R Lenses I'm looking into: Samyang 135mm F/2.0 Samyang...

I'm considering the Manfrotto Compact Light as a simple, cheap, compact tripod for my Nex 5R. I like the look of it and it seems to fold down to 40cm which will be good for stashing in my backpack on holiday for the odd occasion I'll want it. It also comes with a Nex 5R/5T specific adapter to deal with the limited flat area around the tripod mount.  I don't know if this is a serious issue and reflects a problem with this specific tripod or the camera. If its the latter would I have...
