I have been using nex-5 for around 4 years now, and want to upgrade to full frame. A7R and A7II are about the same price here in India Here's my use case.. Type of Photography Street Architectures Few Landscapes + Night Method Manual focus with old lenses, No hurry for shots Hand held ( Tripod always in backpack though ) Mostly on 55mm Helios or 28mm Vivitar primes, sometimes on 80-200mm Albinar No video shooting Notes The primary selection factor is the stabilisation in A7II vs Better...

I am thinking of upgrading from a Nex 5 to the a6000. My main reason for upgrading is to get a viewfinder. It looks like I can buy the a6000 body only in which case I would have the kit lens from my Nex to pair with it. Should I go that route or go ahead and get the kit lens with the a6000. The difference is $150 if I go body only. I can see that the a6000 lens has the power zoom feature. And the Nex lens is a different color so it won't match the camera. But is that $150 better spent on...

Hi all, I have a Wansen 16 channel wireless trigger that connects to the smart terminal of my NEX-5. I've got the receiver attached to a Yongnuo YN560II. In the past, they've worked, but I haven't done much with the flash for a couple months, and now I can't seem to get the trigger to fire. I've tried the following: -Use the teensy Sony flash - this works, and triggers the Yongnuo in S1 mode. -Use the trigger manual button - this works, triggering the flash. -Use the trigger hotshoe with the...

Hello I have a Sony A6000. I took it to a desert. It didn't drop in sands but I think sands have entered. Not it doesn't functioning correctly. As soon as I power it on, It focuses on something itself, Even without half-pressing the shutter button. After It focus, it does not release the focus, even when I change my composition to a scene definitely out of focus (The green brackets showing the focus area are still there. Also the green focus indicator at bottom-left corner is on). And while...

Hello, I use sony la-ea1 adapter on my a6000 body and DT 55-200mm sam lens. Unfortunately with this combination autofocus does not work at all (even slow one). Since this is SAM lens I expect to have auto focus. My lens firmware version is 0.1. I tried to find firmware update for a6000 and la-ea1, but it does not exist, only for nex3 and nex5. However in youtube I saw guys have slow autofocus with some SAM lenses. Could you please suggest how to solve this issue. Thanks

Dear Sony NEX 5R video experts- I have used an NEX5 for over four years with great success, but when a friend sold me his hardly used NEX 5R recently, I noticed so many improvements in overall function, especially better improved in low light areas of images. My only complaint is that I cannot seem to find the settings in the menu to correct what appears as a slow blurring shutter setting in video. It records fine in superb audio as like my old NEX5, but appears as stuck in a "slow shutter...

I have an out of warranty Sony A5000 that I'm trying to take apart to replace the main pcb board. Can anyone help give me some guidance on the disassembly process. I've taken apart my old Nex5 and replaced the sensor but on the A5000. I'm stuck after taking back off. I can't seem to find a way to remove the metal frame that holds the control dial. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey guys, iv always been a fan of photography, but im trying to learn as much as I can. The question i have is what lenses are best for what use. My current set up is; Sony NEX 7 SEL16F28 (purchased to use with my NEX5 while skiing) SEL1855 (came with the camera) SEL18200 (Good range, and good reviews) I normally just keep the SEL18200 on my camera. But i have been reading alot about the SEL50f18 prime lens, and this is the one most people keep on the camera. This weekend I am going to visit...

I got my A7II last night after my NEX-5 broke. Just getting started customizing / setting it up. On my NEX-5 I shot RAW+JPEG. This seemed to be perfect as I don't have the time to process every RAW file and most of the time the JPEG was just fine. But I still had the RAW files for the ones I felt needed post processing. On the A7II it seems that setting the Quality to RAW+JPEG will actually give you RAW and a Fine JPEG while the highest quality JPEG option is Extra Fine. I'd hate to shoot...
