Hello, Having spent a through days trawling the search functions and still being a little unsure I thought I would stick a question post up. I'm an amateur interested birding / wildlife, portrait, band photography (so lowlight...) and landscape. At the moment I have the stock Sony 18-70mm F3.5-5.6, a Minolta 70-210mm F4 and a Minolta 28-135mm F4-4.5 I'd like a minolta prime to round of the collection and replace the Kit lens as I find the IQ/Colour/speed to be lacking. For what I'm doing...
I recently had a small accident with my A200 where I was trying to get a shot low down and near the ground. I either jarred my arm or hit my leg but the result was that the camera slipped from my hands and hit the ground. It was only about a 1 foot drop if that but it was enough to kill the SuperSteady Shot and in turn also messed up the sensor position. I'm not hopeful of repairing it given that I've seen prices listing about £120 so I'm also considering newer models. The problem I have is...
I have been shooting with a Sony A200 since 2008 or so. Been using it for about 6 years now. I have the basic 18-55 kit lens, Sony 50-200 lens, Tokina 11-16 lens, Sony 1.8 35 mm, & the Sony 50mm 1.8. I enjoy using it quite a lot. It is reaching its age though. I'm going to guess that it has about +-60,000 actuations by now. I have been looking at the A77II & the A6000. Both of them look pretty awesome. Both of them have features that I want & features that I don't want. I'll be good with the...

I am not into diving but I go for coracle ride river rafting So I miss my camera as flashes of water may hurt it so I want to buy a waterproof housing for my camera sony A200. I...
i have been lucky to find 3 cherry Dimage 7i's, and 2 A200's. so now the bug has set in to get the A1 and A2. am i an equipment junkie?.....no. been there done that with the DSLR's i had over the past 10 years. am so much happier now without all that gear. gave it to my son who is constantly cleaning and fiddling....;) am i a pixel peeper?.no. i love to go out and shoot, and process RAW files into prints. having gone from a D7i back in 2002, then jumped right into the DSLR Canon world i have...
I am thinking of buying an A580 to replace my wife's A200. I like the A580 because it has both an optical viewfinder and live-view as well as HDR, panoramic mode, video and the tilting back screen. I think this will be the last optical viewfinder A-mount Sony will ever make so that is another reason I want to get one now. I would like to hear your opinion of the A580 and how it compares to the A200. Thanks. PS I shoot with a couple of A700s (best shooting layout of controls and menus) an A900...
Hi. I'm looking for guidance. I made some photos with an old Sony/old Canon FD lens combination. It was set to make JPEG+RAW. When I open these (JPEG & RAW) in faststone image viewer, the photos are 'poor' ? With which (free) program, can I convert (improve) the raw files (ARW format: approx 10 Mbytes) ? thanks in advance.
