Hello! I first off want to apologize if I incorrectly post this question or make a mistake of any kind, this is not only my first post on this forum, but my first week owning something more than a camera phone. I purchased an A6000 for my outdoor adventures and added a 16mm f/2.8 wide angle lens for the purpose of capturing star filled skies and nature.  I have played with the exposure, typically setting it to the maximum of 30 seconds, but very often (not always) the sky and stars appear...

Hi, I own a sony 5R with sony 16mm lens. I am going to Alaska this Summer and would like to take some beautiful pics of the animals and glacier. I am actually new with all mirrorless cameras and the lenses. So my questions: 1. Is it worth it to get get A6000 instead of using my 5R for my purpose? 2. Should I get a ECU1 wide angle adapter for 16mm or get sigma 19mm? or other lens for the trip? 3. I have a mount adapter for sony 75-300 a mount lens and it's pretty heavy with the adapter on....

Hello, I'm aware that similar questions have been asked multiple times, but most of them are from last year and/or fragmented, so figured I would ask again here. I am thinking about buying a6000 or at least waiting for this a6100 to be announced, so get that instead or I buy a6000 cheaper. I am basically a novice with digital cameras (only dealt with film cameras years ago), but willing to spend time learning once I get one. I will use mainly for casual travel photos (i.e. street/landscape)....

Hi, I'm having the hardest time making a decision here. I'm going to be traveling at the end of the month, and I want to bring the best camera/lens combination that I can. Here's what I have: Sony NEX5N (with firmware update to support the 1650 lens) Sony NEX3N SELP1650 power zoom lens SEL16F28 lens (16mm pancake lens) So, my question is which camera should I bring, and with which lens? I realize a lot of this is subjective, but I'm interested in opinions even if they are just based on...

I've recently moved on from an old Sony NEX C3 to the new A6000. I loved my C3 but I've always kicked myself for not buying the 5 when I had the chance (basically I was mis-sold by a dude who didn't know what he was on about and I hadn't done my research). In any case I've had some fantastic shots from my old C3 but the move to the A6000 has been a learning curve if I'm honest. Whilst I thought they would operate in a similar manner I've found they're quite different *but* I think it's for...

I am a photography novice and am hoping to receive an a6000 for my birthday and need recommendations on lenses to go with the new device. I plan on replacing my old Canon Rebel which had a 18-55mm and a 75-300mm and also my Panasonic AVCHD video camera. I am not sure if I should order the camera kit with the 16-50mm power zoom lens or just the camera body by itself. I hate to pay for a lens that I may never use. I know that I will need several lenses to do all that I want but this is the...

I was on the point to buy a NEX with the 16/2.8 lens when in a review of the Sony 16mm/F2.8 the verdict was "The Sony E 16mm f/2.8 may be a controversial lens on lower resolution NEX cameras. However, it seems rather pointless to use it on the NEX 7 - 24 megapixel are way beyond the capabilities of this tiny lens. The center quality is certainly fine but the outer image region is extremely soft at max. aperture and just barely acceptable around f/8. The native vignetting characteristic of the...

I recently bought a second hand pancake online, and was concerned by the level of blur and distortion. I updated the firmware and that helped to reduce the distortion in the corners however it still refuses to focus on anything further that 30cm from the lens. Is this normal? I've seen other results using the 16 mm an its crystal clear. Could it be a bad lens or am I doing something wrong? I've been shooting in both manual and auto and cant seem to make it any better.  Thanks.

I have owned the 16mm f/2.8 (SEL16F28) lens since I bought my NEX-5N about 18 months ago. I am a complete novice at interchangeable lens cameras and photography. Having said that, I have basically never used the lens, because I could never get photos to look decent. Whenever there is any kind of light, the image around the light looks "fuzzy," or far from sharp.  Recently, I saw some examples of photos taken with this lens on this forum and I was blown away by how good they looked, so I...
