I have used my FD-95 since I first bought it. Not sure of the year, but it was soon after they first became available. I LOVE this camera. Although it is a little bulky, I don't really mind because it LOOKS like a much more expensive camera (I paid just in excess of $2000, including taxes, here in Canada). However even though by today's standards, it has a very low megapixel rating, I am able to take the most fabulous pictures with it. You can see some of them at my photo website: ...

I continue to use my Sony FD-95 2.1 megapixel digital camera when I need to provide images to my subjects on the spot. I use 1.4 meg diskette for this purpose. This is very handy when doing portrait and/or documentation work that is confidential. My customers appreciate the confidentiality this service provides because the image is written directly to the floppy and saved nowhere else. Here is an example of the images I have obtained in the form of a album on Sony's imageStation web site. ...

I have done just about everything with a full 35mm outfit. I was looking for something that was comfortable and compatable. I found this camera to be great. It does everything I need. I still use the 35mm but I will grab this first and put it to use. It lacks in speed shooting and low light but all its other features make up for it. Problems: The Mpeg mode leaves alot to be desired. I have yet to find it of any real value. Still shots and landscapes as well as family photos makes this ...

I have owned the FD-95 since Jun 01 - I have found it an excellent camera for vacations and family get-togethers. Excellent image quality which lets me print 5x7 pictures that match 35mm quality. A couple of handy additions are some close-up and wide-angle lens adapters and a set of Cokin filters - the adapter screws into the lens threads which lets me get some nice "effects" shots - soft-focus, center spot etc. Problems: The manual is about as skimpy as it gets - and it read like japanese ...

I've had this camera for about a year and it has performed flawlessly. The image quality is extremely good considering the compression of jpg to about 350k in high res mode. I do alot of nature photography in the Rockies and the drawback or nuisance issue is that because of the intense sunlight at high altitude, you have to cup your left hand over the viewfinder as you look through it to prevent the peripheral light from turning the viewfinder off. A feature I miss is not being able to ...

I purchased this camera about 3 months ago and I just love it.I rented a 5 mega pixel camera before I bought this one and I just cannot tell the difference in print quality as long as I use a memory stick. I usually do not use floppy Discs because the image quality really suffers. It is true that it takes a very long time to take a picture, but I take pictures of flowers or landscape pictures, no action shots, so to me it does not matter. I would buy another one in a second. Problems: absolut ...

It was my first digital camera. I´ve had this camera for 14 months and I was very satisfied with it for my amateur and learning shots. Is a good digital camera. The best is the 10x zoom. The floppy adapter with memory stick is very good and it decreases the annoying noise when read/write a diskette. But with the memory stick floppy adapter is very slow for me. Now, I just trade ir for a new Nikon Coolpix 995 to improve quality pictures. I´ll be lacking the 10x zoom. Problems: It comsumes a ...

This is my second digital camera, after graduating from a point-and-shoot ) 0.3 MP cheapie. I like the 10x optical zoom, as it allows me to capture the unguarded moments of my subjects. Photo quality is good, but I wish Sony included a fil size option of about 1.4 MB, or 1 photo per disk, never mind the probable slow write time. The finest compression available (about 330 KB size) doesn't do justice to the 1.92 Mpixel CCD - a lot of artifacting emerge when the photos are enlarged. In my ...

The image stabilization is one of the best features. Going on a trip and leaving the tripod at home is a very good idea. The right handed shoot and zoom controls are in the right place. The 10 times optical zoom is another strong selling point but a close up ability that goes down to the dust on a protective lens is something to see. On the picture side, it's a lot of bad news: Take a piece of white paper and set your white balance on it. Now crumple it up, straighten it out again, to get ...

I have been a photographer for several years. This is my first digital camera after looking around I thought it was the best for the money. I have taken some unbeiliveable shots. something I didn't expect from a digital. I have taken shots of Miss Budwiser the racing boat at 150 mph and got good shots. I like the idea of the floppy disk Problems: I would like to see an adaptor to use studio strobes and I would be super happy with the camera.
