I have been using this camera for the past two plus years. I echo another review, when the pictures are good, they are good, and when bad, they are very bad. I have taken about 700+ quality pictures in the highest res and have no particular problems with the camera, except low light. The floppy is a good feature for instant results, especially if you need to use a picture on another computer. With the quality out there, I would only buy this camera if it was dirt cheap. Looking to buy ...

I switched from an Olympus OM SLR to Sony FD 81 a few years ago and to FD90 about a year ago. One has to wait too long to get pictures bsck from film cameras - with Sony cameras one can get results in about a minute at times. The lithium battery is great. Macrophotography is outstanding. Picture quality not too bad - for macro great Problems: Hard to see what one is suposedly aiming at under certain light conditions. A hot shoe for additional flash would be helpful. On whole, quite pleased ...

Have used it now for 2 years. Extremely user friendly interface. Record time to floppy is slow and extremely slow if using the memory stick adapter. I use the adapter with 64 MB memory stick (have never gotten close to running out of memory) and tolerate the slow record speed. I shoot mostly still subjects. Have found the record time very limiting for shooting candids of people. Outstanding macro which I use a lot. I do not usually print my stuff (need higher resolution for that), but ...

I use the mavica fd 90 for my construction business and it has been an invaluable asset to promote my work to new customers. I have been using it also to document the progress of my various home repair jobs. The floppy disk storage serves me because I don't have to mess up with cables, etc. to my PC. The optical zoom feature, I would call it a god send; it allows me to get details of joints for example when joining framing lumber and for finishing ( trim and moulding ) work. Problems: I have ...

The picture quality once printed using my Epson 875dc photo printer is not pin sharp. Using the flash on the FD90 does help with definition and now use the flash setting all the time. I would like to here from anyone with similar problems. Problems: The camera has been faultless.

This camera's use of floppy disk is really what attracted me to it. Talk about ease of use! Sharing picture is a complete breeze. The camera will make copies of disk for you or you can pop the diskettes into ANYONE'S pc or mac and begin sharing, e-mailing or posting pictures. No cables, no fuss no muss. Problems: As a result of using diskettes this camera is very bulky and slow. The 4x disk drive isn't all that quick between shots and forget about it if you are using the memory stick ...

I bought it as a open item at best buy for $369. For me it's the best bang for the buck. If you buy a camera that has media (micro drive or other) it is not warrenteed. So, the best way to go it floppy. I can fit more than 30 pictures on a disc. that as good as a roll of film. And you just throw it in your computer and copy in what you want. I don't see why you would by anything else.
