This is my 2nd Mavica. I photograph female feet as a hobby in addition to landscape and normal photography. I find the features on this camera to be easy to use. The quality of the photos is very good. The 3.5 floppy feature is what I like the best about this camera. I wear glasses and find the LCD view finder is easy to use also. I'm currently looking into getting a Mavica FD-92 also. I like the idea of having either memory card or 3.5 storage option. Problems: The flash can be touchy. ...

have had this camera a couple years and have taken thousands of photos. mostly plants and nature and mostly close up. simple to use. many options i didn't ever use. it is "obsolete" now but it does more than most users will ever use. should be some available used at 2-300$ will make a terrific camera at that price. Problems: image difficult ti see in bright light. back lighting makes it great to see in low light.

I have had this camera for a couple of years - It was my second digital camera purchase when I opicked it up for $275 american. It is the digital camera that everyone wishes they had bought! The images are not comparable to the new megapixel jobs on the market but it has ease of use, acceptable image quality, email features, fast transfer of images to computer, MPEG movie mode for sending nifty little videos to friends & relatives as overiding plus elements. I cannot say enough about the joy ...

I have had this camera for two years now and find it much more useful even than my nikon pro gear. I even used it to photograh a 180 page antique book for a client with excellent results. Problems: I would be interested to know why the memory stick/floppy does not work on this model.

My first digital camera was a Mavica FD 7. I have chosen Mavica because of the floppy disk, and I'm sure I made a great choice. Nowadays I have another Mavica - FD 88. I like it very much as I can get photos and also movies. Problems: Only one problem makes me be angry: sometimes it takes a long time to record the file. Mavica FD 7 and FD 71 (I have tried both) were faster. I can't understand why.

I have had the 88 for 1.5 years. I use it for close ups on flowers and long distance senic shots. On high resolution the flower pictures rival the best 35 mm shots I have taken. The best shots are taken in natural lighting. Have also used at outdoor concerts for video and still shots with great results. I take a box of 50 floppies on vacation along with my extra battery and recharging unit. I bought a Polaroid camera case and can carry a dozen floppies and the extra battery in the ...

People who are saying this camera is hard to understand are just plain dumb. It is my second mavica, moving up from the FD-83 to this one. I love everything about it except the storage media gets restricting. Only 3 Outdoor pictures on one disk on highest settings. But....they are great pictures. I have printed 4x6 pictures on my HP 952C and they are better looking than any 35 mm print. Problems: At full zoom the picture gets grainy.

I'm loving mine. For those thinking of purchasing, here's some information for you. It does 3 different sizes and 2 quality settings. At highest in each, you can fit only 4 images per disk. I usually shoot middle size and always highest quality, therefore get about 8 images per disk. If you shoot smallest and highest quality (still good) you can fit about 19 per disk. A disk holds 15 seconds of good MPEG video with good mono sound. Playing back images and movies on the camera works fine. The ...
