Had this camera since '01 -- mainly to use for selling on Ebay but have used for other pictures since. LOVE using floppys to take pics -- don't have to have any other type of program to see/transfer pictures. Print quality excellent -- comparible to 35mm point-&-shoot. VERY easy to use & manual is good for explaining how everything works. Despite problems (see below) I would still recommend this digital. Problems: SIZE -- very bulky & hard to carry around. Weighs a lot. Still use my 35mm for ...

I bought this 12/24/01, and have taken some gorgeous pics with it. I used it to take shots of electronic equipment for my web site. Fairly easy to use, likes a lot of light. The disk feature is nice in that you can snap a pic of your buddy's kids playing ball and hand them the diskette - nice touch. However, there is a price to be paid in reliability for having the disk mechanism.... Problems: This camera started giving me "format error" messages on perfectly fine disks after 7 months, which ...

My first digital camera was actually a Sony MVC-FD83, which is almost identical to the -87. Bought it in 1999. Just recently gave it to my older sister. And I miss that camera! Say what you will about the fact that it stores images on floppy disks, I never had a problem finding "film". Plus, here's something many people probably don't think of: It's a great friend-maker. When my wife and I would go on vacation, we came across many people at some great picture-taking locations. They ...

I have had this Camera since November 2001. I'd bought it for selling things on ebay, but soon photography grew on me like moss. At first, the camera did seem a bit big to fit in my hands but gradually I got used to it. The image quality is pretty good, good enough for me at least. This camera is nothing professional but with the right view a beautiful photo can always turn out. This camera is my friend, and a tool for my creativity. In some ways, I do like the idea of a floppy disk but it ...

Ive owned my camera for about 6 months now. Throughout, ive seen the very goods and the very bads about this camera. id like to list a few pros and cons on this camera by sony pros - 1) uses floppy disks (which is good cause until i got my memory stick adapter, i shot 64o x 48o, but if you want to go 1o24 x 768, then it only carries 10 to a disk) 2) battery life runs about 90 minutes, which is good unless your up in the mountains =P 3) nice features such as negative imaging, sepia and black ...

I've owned the camera for about a month now. I have two things I'd have wanted on the camera...a USB port and video. This camera has neither. Other than that it's an awesome camera for the money with top quality pics. The batter last a long time and I don't mind changing floppies as I was used to changing roll of film anyway. Problems: Non yet

I am a new Sony Mavica 87 owner. Problems: Why can't I get the time to lock in on the screen after following the "setting the date and time" instructions? I have spent a lot of time on this but must be missing something.
