Floppy disc mechanism too delicate... Otherwise brilliant! Brought this a year ago, and have had great fun with it. Great for snaps and small images. The macro facility is amazing! Compared with other cameras of similar specs, it does an excellent job. However my Camera is no more. I am posting this as I search the web for a new Camera because the floppy disc drive has broken and continually gives the dreaded "C:13:01" error for every disc inserted. This is not a problem unique to me! ...

Have had camera for 13 months up until this month. It took very good photos and I had no problems up until now. Problems: The camera quit reading the floppy disks and the flash mechanism malfunctioned. Since it was out of warranty, was going to cost $268 to repair. Not worth it, so now I have to get a new camera!

Shooting in low light situations is terrible...too much noise. Focussing is incredibly slow, and the lcd display isn't good enough to see if it's sharp. Metering is really bad as well...it fails in a lot of situations. The shutter is just the most stupid thing I've ever seen on a camera. It takes so much 'power' that it's impossible to keep it still! When you pay as much as I did ($600 for the camera, $99 for a 64 memory stick) you have to be a real idiot not to notice the incredibly poor ...

KIND OF BULKY - BUT GETS THE JOB DONE. NON-DIGITAL OWNERS AT MY WORK WERE AMAZED WITH THIS LOWER END SONY CAMERA. INITALLY FELL IN LOVE WITH THE FLOPPY DISK FEATURE, BUT UPON REALIZING I HAD MISSED OUT WITH THE MEMORY STICK ON LATER MODELS, REALIZED YOU HAVE TO KNOW WHAT YOUR NEEDS ARE BEFORE YOU BUY THAT FIRST CAMERA. OVERALL, IT IS GETTING THE JOB DONE, JUST WISHED THAT I HAD ALSO GOTTEN THE "MAV 92" FEATURE OF HAVING A SEPARATE MEMORY STICK SLOT AS WELL AS THE FLOPPY DISK PORT. Problems: ...

The time between when you press and hold the button to snap the picture and the time when it's actually taken is a bit slow, but it's a great camera. The quality is good.. I have yet to use every small feature to my advantage. I like the red eye reduction feature. Problems: Slow shutter speed, for lack of better words to describe it.

I got this camera a few months ago, and it's been ok. The best feature is the floppy disks, although they don't hold much. A way to get around this is to get a sony memory stick, and a memory stick to floppy disk adapter, but this ends up costing over $100. It's a very good camera for here and there picture taking, but it doesn't have the sharpness that I want and need for most of my picture taking (being artistic). It is not very good for action/movement shots. Problems: frequent disk ...

The obvious advantage to this camera is the ability to use a standard floppy disc in the camera. Also that this disc can then be placed directly in the computer and the photos used with no cable hookup or downloading from the camera. Problems: The problems that I have found exist with the ability to see and focus through the LCD screen on the back of the camera when outdoors in bright daylight. Also that in my case this is the second camera that I have had in this model that is giving me ...
