I am baffled by the negative comments on this camera. I purchased it as a "purse" camera for times when I didn't want to lug my SLR and gear. I love it. I will agree with the poster that said you have to really read the manual and figure things out, but once you do, it's awesome. Problems: A little hard to figure out at first, but ... be patient.

This is my 3rd digital camera, 2nd Sony. It meets the need for an easy to carry, feature rich camera. Pretty menu presentation does not interfere with its function. Menus are simple and straight forward. I like that there are very few buttons as my Cxxxx has about a dozen buttons. Pretty good value for the money. Problems: None except: I dislike that you must use a proprietary cable. It should have a USB mini or 1394 connection so that we do not have to carry a specialty cable. The ...

I experienced several make and models of Ultra-compact cameras before (Minolta XT, Sony T1, Panasonic LX09). I also have experience with dSLRs. My impression of this camera is good. There are some compromises regarding pixel quality, especially at higher ISO sensitivities. However, I find that the camera handles potentially difficult exposure situtations very well and the quality of the result is quite acceptable (way below dSLR but very good for the size of the camera). I recommend this ...

First I ithought I had a defective model. The owner of the shop agreed when he saw the pics. The second model I recieved, was the same: terrible image quality. Too much noise eduction, great loss of detail even at 100 ISO. Indoor pics with flash are useless, and i really mean useless. I have never seen pictures with flash at 400 Iso that bad. And it really needs at least 400 ISO. I had the W50 and took excellent pics with it, but the W90 really useless. Dont buy it.

An excellent camera if you take the time to learn the features and then you will have some very good images. The burst mode is great and also the speed at which the camera focus. Overall a very good point and shoot camera. Problems: read the manual and then experiment with the settings

This is my 4th camera in the DSC series (S70, T1, P200). I purchased it to carry it whenever it is not practical to have my Nikon D50. I am having a bit of a hard time with the W90, in big part due that there are very minor differences in the way the S70, T1 and P200 have their controls and menu items laid out, while the W90 has a completely different menu system that is activated by two possible buttons instead of one. Another problem I had is that it shipped with the worst camera manual I ...

I find that if you're careful, and play to the cameras' strengths, it delivers supurb photos. It never was, and never will be a DSLR- it's not fair to ask it to be. Problems: None, everyting works perfecly.

I've used this camera for a few days and returning it tomorrow. Disappointed in quality in low light - lenz/flash not working well producing very much noise and distorted colors. IS doesn't work well either, pics are blurry when trying zoom or w/out flash. Nice pics outside/daylight, though. Should have waited for a professional review! Problems: Low light operation, image stabilization, tiny and awkward buttons (power and display)
