I bought this camera about a year ago, because I took a new job (business development with frequent travel to Europe) and I wanted a true pocket sized P&S camera. Previously, I had bought my wife a P200 and my son a DSC-W50, and have been very happy with both. I find this easy to use, pretty good on battery consumption with image quality at outstanding. It gives me evrything I wanted in a small package.

I've had this camera for a little while now and shot off a variety of test shots under varied conditions. I'm very satisfied with it for a point and shoot camera. I like the compact size which fits easily in one's pocket. My main use for it is to take happy snaps of people and places when out on tour trips or at clubs indoors with friends. So far I've found the auto position all I need. Exposure, colour, focus is good to very good. Flash is good. Start up time and time between shots is very fast.

Despite the bad comments I read here, I bought it and it paid off. "Play" with the settings people, don't rely on the auto. Read the manual, experiment and the image quality will compensate you. It doesn't have the friendliest menu you can get, but I'll learn it. The IS does a good job and video capturing is quite good, better than you'd expect. A friend of mine has the T100 , I had the T70 as an alternative buy and I still thing that if you take "design" out of the equation (which I ...

This camera is the right came if you want to take beautiful shots without spendind lots of money in a huge and hard to carry professional cameras. I read some reviews and somes people says that the menus are confusing... i think those people don´t know other Sony products like Playstation 3 or PSP, both of them uses the same menu system, tha is very cool and easy. This type of menu fits perfectly in digital cameras and Sony do a good job. Problems: No problems

Estabilização de imagem ??? PESSIMA !

The Sony w80 is a high performance snapshot camera. The startup is pretty fast, about one second I'd say. In serial photo-mode it makes about 5 photoes per second until the button is released or the battery is empty. The auto-focus is extremely fast, probably the fastest of all compact cameras. Same for the shot delay. With 175 g it's also very light. The image quality is the usual 7 Mpix quality (of course it is not EOS quality). also without flash light most pics are sharp. The usage is the ...

This camera sucks. I've been using it for three months and I am very unhappy with it now. Had problem with its LCD and sent it to Sony for repair but ended up having more problems now: the previous LCD problem did not get solved and now I can't even export photo on my mac (previously I could). The image quality is so-so, I suggest you buy a Canon or some other brands, should be better than Sony. This Sony camera is even worse than my previous old camera: Casio. I will never buy Sony.

Being a photographer for 25 years, I found the functions on the Sony W80 to very non-intuitive. Even after reading the PDF instruction manual (I detest PDF manuals), I still wasn't completely clear on its operation and pathways to get to where I wanted. The deathblow for this camera is that the images aren't all that great, and if I want a video clip, I'll use a video camera. I returned it and now I'm out 40 bucks for a memory card that I may not be able to use. The W80 is features-galore ...

So disappointed with the image quality. Too many pictures looked great on the camera, but was actually blurry on the computer. It does have a fast start up that is very nice. And it can take relatively decent pics in low level light. The video mode is great, and can be used even in low light. It's cute and compact. Image stablization is a positive. Considering returning it (image quality is very important to me) and paying an extra $100 for a better picture. It seems that there's a ...

The Sony dsc-w80 is an all around good camera for some one who want more then just a point and shot. The image quality is not exactly what I wanted it to be but the range of person options and ISO setting makes up for it in some ways. It took me a little while to get use to the menu settings and it's a little over priced for the image quality, but it is great for on the move photography. I've taken it to sporting evens, and socail gathers and had no proplems with it. Great size for putting ...
