I've had this camera for over year now.. I'm going to be upgrading soon to a DSLR. Why? Because it's too slow.. The shutter delay is huge! I have twins and when they didn't move much, it was a great camera, the picture quality is very good and the ability to connect the camera to the TV in the living room was a much more useful feature than I imagined.. It also shoots very good video too... Everything about this camera is great except the shutter delay. I wouldn't be upgrading if it wasn't ...

If you are knowledgeable of photography beyond the basics and would like a little more control in shooting and; are looking for a simple family camera; and like or already own other Sony cameras - this is the one to get. Well built. But the image quality is not nearly as good when compared to larger Zeiss lenses on the "enthusiast" level R, H, and F series by Sony. (But these are big cameras compared to the deck of card size F-7.) It would be nice if it had true full manual controls. It only ...

A friend bought this camera and gave me a chance to play with it. The camera looks very stylish, compact, fast enough, has decent lens (for the class). That would be my full list of its advantages the rest are disadvantages. The results are quite disappointing for such a relatively expensive camera. Overpopulated sensor (7 megapixels!) produces a lot of artifacts (color fringing etc.) and dirty looking noise at high sensivity. There's a lot of signs of digital processing (noise reduction and ...

Send my W7 back to the store. The pics were poor even in daylight. Sad. I really like the camera, good looking, fast but unfort noise and no sharpness in pics. Maybee a bad ex.

Well, I bought this to upgrade from a dsc-p92, and I was surprisingly disappointed. I must have gotten one of the bad ones out there...In low light situations, it had a truly amazing blurry flare around brighter objects, and far more noise than I was expecting in general. (I also have an F717, so I am not a novice at using these things.) The large display was really quite nice, but the overall performance was very disappointing. It went back to the store...and I am getting one of the ...

I looked at it in the store. My only comment is I hate LCDs (in the back) that are so big with only 110,000 pixels. An LCD that big needs 240,000 pixels, like Sony puts in their T1/3/7 & H1 or at least 140,000 pixels like in the Sony p150 or P200.
