After dropping my P150 I bought this one. Very nice camera with interesting features. (Face detection, in camera retouch, slideshow with music) Photo quality is extremely good when shooting in day light. Problems: But camera has a serious ISO problem. It's incapable of exposing shots at ISO 100 that most snapshot cameras can handle without problem. We need to boost iso to 400 or higher and that brings out very high artifacts (noise) and unsharp pictures like cheap cameras do. Test it: Take a ...

I found the image quality to be excellent in all modes. It has a very good macro feature that gets you in real close. This camera is jam packed with workable scene modes that give great pictures. I shoot mostly in P mode so I can change the ISO, focus, exposure etc.. I have taken pictures that I can easily use for large prints. The body construction is excellent and easily fits in a pocket. If you take the time to study the manual that sony gives you on disk, you will get good results. I ...

Pros: Easy to capture amazing pictures, Adjustment Capabilities in Manual Mode, SMART ZOOM!, Small Slick and Sleek Design, Burst Shooting Mode, Adjustable Flash Intensity, IMAGE STABILZATION! Hey Everyone! I was somewhat disillusioned when reading the CNET's review for this camera, but I am quite an investigative shopper and had to see for myself. So, after spending over 3 hours at my local electronics supplier (remaining nameless) I actually decided on the W200. I was mainly comparing this ...

As I was composing my review, I saw that others have input their's. "Highvibe" you have said everything very eloquently in your July 8th summary. I agree with all that you mentioned and observed. No need for me to reiterate everything. I still have my previous Sony camera, the DSC-P150. The W200 I found far more easier to use as a quick point and shoot. Even my wife, who is not a photo geek like myself, commented on the W200's ease of use. Problems: There were no problems ...

Upgraded from a dsc-w7 and shot with it for 2 weeks so far: first impressions are that layout is much improved, sensor is great, ability to shoot manual is excellent and all controls are well laid out and all to hand: you will need a biiiig memory stick if you shoot with the excellent burst facility: 2Gb and above would be my view Problems: Occasional image writing issue (same as other Sonys we have) - remember to check what setting you are on - easy to click the shot selection dial by ...

I"ve had a very positive experience with the w200. My images have been sharp and have that sony color punch. It's operated fast (shot-to-shot) and the focus has been dead on. When I crop 50-70%, the images are still clear and bright. It's abit smaller that my w100,so it's even ez'r to pocket. No low light problems so far. Of-cruz there will be some trade offs with any ultra compact but hey my kids 8x10's look great. Problems: Yes, I did a self portrait and did a massive zoom...scarey :) ...

Well built solid metal based camera. Variable controls with some scene modes included-many pre-set of course. New Sony menu system fairly easy to get to grips with like the H9. Super steady shot with easy focusing and shooting. Very high quality pictures out of the camera. Problems: None as yet aside from absence of fine/standard mode at 12 MPixel but this seems to be the norm today with Sony compacts.
