I bought this camera for general-purpose use, and it has far exceeded my expectations. My list of requirements when I bought included: - Small & light enough to carry in a backpack or small case for hiking etc. - Good image quality under nearly all circumstances because this camera will be used for everything from eBay pictures to family events to outdoor wilderness shots to macro closeups, and often under less than ideal lighting conditions. - Movie mode with sound. At least 640x480 size. - ...

So nature in color and low noise in ISO400. Very happy with this small camera. Although consider old camera but performance wise could be counted. Cool for night shoot with infra red focusing (hard to find this features nowadays). Very good coating on this Carl Zeiss lens. Problems: So far no problem except small LCD.

In terme of image quality, this camera is the best of all the compacts cameras.. The image quaility is better than Canon G3 or G5 (J tested thoset) and egal whith olympus C5060. Problems: - Not so fast between shot to shot and use Mémory stick cards which are a lot expensive. The battery life is a bit poor. It is necessary to have an other.

I have had this camera for more than 2 years now and I can confidently say that it has served me well. I was looking for a good first camera that would let me have control over the image parameters and the DSC-V1 did a good job at that. Sturdy, rugged and feature-filled, the camera has performed well under all conditions. Image quality is excellent and I have printed many 8x10's. This camera, along with Adobe PhotoShop CS2 is a killer combo. The battery life is so-so, being able to shoot a ...

I bought this camera in april 2004 and have shot over 2000 pictures; It is a very efficient small and lightweight camera. Picture quality is almost as good as on a DSLR. I also have a DSLR (Pentax istDS, which is really a great camera, and I enjoy it. But i dont like carrying along a dslr with extra lenses when I travel abroad or when I go skying or some other sport. Whereas the DSCV1 is small enouh to be carried along in a banana belt or a large pocket. The DSCV1 gives me the choice betwen ...

I love this camera. I am a SRL user. In the digital photography I use a Oly E-1 and a Oly C-8080. Why I love this camera so much? This is an advanced P&S camera in the same category of a Canon G-5 and G-6, but in a very compact size. I can go anywhere with this camera and take fantastic pictures with it, it is so discrete that most of the people think that it's just a P&S. Excellent for street photography, and informal portraits, it's not intimidating. Excellent colors, very sharp lens, does ...

I've Had this camera for 1.5 years now, and LOVE IT. I have even dropped it in a pool of water, shaken water out of every pore, and dried it out with the defroster in the rental car, and it still works great! Image quality is awsome. I use the 30 second "open shutter" feature often for night shots, that come out wonderful. Not worth the extra size for the NightShot feature. Great value. Flash is massive in power. Not without its downfalls... Problems: Its SLOW compared to newer models. ...

Overall one of the most balanced camera i ever used! No noticeable artifacts and no barrel distortion at all even at tele (eq. 34mm). Night shot and framing are a good addon over other cameras. I will repeat myself but i don't know how to describe this camera if not with the word balanced ;) Problems: Battery life too short (needs a replacement). The pop-up flash is a bit annoying because it makes the camera not too ergonomic.

As a long time 35mm SLR user this is my first digital camera. It was bought to take over the more menial jobs of the SLR so I only need put up with the bulk (and developing costs) of the SLR when the subject matter demanded it. As a result I wanted to be sure of getting the right camera. I looked at every manufacturer and most models. I narrowed it down to a small number of models, collected dozens of samples from each camera, examined them myself and then put them to others (without ...
