Sony Cyber-shot DSC-U20

Nice and small camera to carry, but tempermental as far as lighting. Moderate sun is the best, it doesn't handle a tiny bit of shade or too much sun well. Subject comes out looking further than actual distance when images are uploaded, must be within 8 feet of subject for good proportion. Has very strong flash, especially for a tiny cam, great flash. Image quality can be good, but results are sporatic, I am guessing because of the tiny lens. It's a good camera for it's intended purpose, but ...

Just got it. I have a S602 as primary camera, and wanted a secondary point and shoot that I could slip in pocket. This camera rocks! 2mp is fine and now I wont miss those shots we all miss because we left the camera at home. I found a cell phone case that fits it perfect and it sits on my hip all day now. Problems: I wish the movie mode was better. My S602 does 640X480 30fps with sound, so the U20 is quite a step down. Wish macro mode was better.

Very fast camera for snapshots! Also very light and VERY good looking! The pictures come out just OK. They are overall quite grainy because of the harsch sharpening and Auto ISO. Auto ISO is 100-320 and you can't select ISO values manually. The reason for me returning this camera was Auto ISO and the very small and contrast-less/overly bright LCD. Maybe the picture resolution also, 2 megapixels feels a little limiting when having used 5 megapixels for a while. So I will now buy a DSC-P32 ...

Ever miss a photo opportunity because you didn't have your "main" camera? I got tired of that, but I was also tired of trying to lug my DSC-F707 everywhere. There had to be a solution. Enter this little Sony. I've now made it a habit to keep this camera charged up and with me everywhere I go. I can't begin to tell you how many times in just the last month I've used it to get "the shot" I wanted. I have to agree with the opinion expressed here that the image quality of this little Sony is just not good enough. The main problem is noise. I have to use NeatImage on almost any shot I intend to keep, and usually extensive PhotoShop work is required to get lighting, sharpness and other aspects up to viewable standards. I think Sony must have hurried this one through the production process, or figured it would be bought by people so impressed with its small size that they wouldn't care ...

I work at several clubs as a webphotographer. meaning quick easy shots in abundance for club websites. you dont need a great camera for this job, and almost any camera will be sufficient. i saw this sony camera a few weeks ago online when it was released, and loved the idea of having a tiny 2.0mp camera such as this around my neck while i work at the club.
