I do admire that it may take (being handheld) highly contrasted and resoluted images of a text, in front of the A4/Letter document in the Hanheld Twilight mode. It is then easily and almost error-free recognized by OCR software once the camera is connected to PC thru USB cable and the images of documents are uploaded. I'm using the camera for a while now and Though the viewfinder is dim for shooting in the sun (there's no setting to make it brighter) the camera does have some very unique special picture taking capabilities and takes excellent pics and movies. Problems: 7,5

I've been more-or-less happy with my Sony T-100 since march 2007, but was wooed by the promises of every latest advance in Digital Camera technology with the TX55. The size was right, the weight an incredible 3 oz less than my already miniscule T-100. I immediately got on the waiting list at B&H, and ordered it within minutes of notification that it was in stock.
