This is my 4th digital camera. Before this I was using IXUS 980IS which I bought back in late 2008. 3 years after using the IXUS, I thought it was like a high time to update. Furthermore, I was looking for something much more compact than IXUS - and without having to deal with protruding lens when doing the shooting. The HD video is the one that compels me the most. The video shooting is a blast for camera this size. The OLED screen is big and nice to look at - as long as it is not under the ...

TX100V Sony has a super small, pocket-able camera with the TX100V. The TX100V has a very fast start-up times, though sometimes the sliding lid is difficult to slide down. The large oled screen has great color and detail but can be hard to see outdoors. The touch screen is good and bad. It can be too sensitive sometimes and non-responsive at others. Most often when touching the screen is not working, by switching to your other hand it will work. With such a large screen it is too easy to have ...

Sony builds wonderful cameras and I expected a lot from this one when I received it from B&H last week. It was replacing a fantastic 2 yr old WX1 and we got great photos and video with a T30 before that. My big camera is a Canon 5DMk2. 1) The large 3.5" screen is disappointing because it is not bright enough - very hard to use outdoors. Dimmer than the WX1. And I expected the touch screen to work like the liquid interaction you get from a camera on a cell phone. It is frustrating to try ...

And zooming during a video shot, unlike on the WX10, is completely silent. The touch focus on the screen is a very nice feature - you point where you want the camera to focus. You can even do this while taking a video shot, so the camera will shift the focus to where it was to where you point. Wish there were manual settings in video. The new HDR backlight mode works very well.

Just got this camera this week and it is my carry-everywhere camera. The touchscreen is excellent (I have read reviews that say the touchscreen is finicky but that is not my experience), startup is a little slower than I would like but it takes a surprisingly good picture. You have to explore the camera to get familiar with it because the manual is so sparse. Thankfully there is a very good in-camera guide. The movie function is quite impressive also. You cannot zoom while taking a movie but ...
