Just bought one of these for a work collegue and took a few test shots, am very impressed. Low light results are very good and the lens/sensor combination gives very good resolution especially for this class of camera. Flash is adequate. Controls are well labeled and easy to use. I bought this model in Thailand about a month ago with shot more than 1000 shots. The lens quality is very sharp. The shutter speed is quite good (taking the seagulls flying by Telezoom max. very clear). Night shot is good also. The red light assiisting in focus is very helpful. The flash light is strong so you can taken upto 5 meters object clearly by using internal flash. Trying a short at ISO 1250, it is o.k. very less of noise. Body is made of metal so it looks durable. I had the S800 for nearly a month, have taken more than a thousand shots and the close shot pictures are generally clean with excellent colour and resolution in bright daylight. The 6X lens gives less purple fringing at high contrast edges than the W7, which I also own, and the highlight clipping in bright scenes are less too.
