This is my second digital camera and I want to say that the SONY DSC-S70 is a very excellent camera. The picture quality is amazing, very detailed and clear. The features are very usefull too. **I RECOMMEND THIS CAMERA** for all the beginner and advance users *THUMBS UP* Problems: The only problem I have is, lack of memory space (8MB memory stick included) & slow shutter release.

An excellent camera. This is my 3rd digital (first one I bought for myself). Overall, I found this camera highly preferrable to the Olympus 3030 or the Nikon 990. The sharpness of the image is amazing, especially in macro mode. The infolithium battery is great -- the ability to quickly rechanrge the built-in battery is a must-have feature, one Nikon and Olympus ignore. Also, these batteries are compatible with my Sony DV camera, making it very practical. Problems: The only problems are the ...

The S70 is my first digital camera and I like it a lot. I was amazed by the quality of the images. Zooming in on a picture and watching the emergence of all the details, captured by 3 million+ pixels, is a delightful experience. Definitely one of the better purchases of late. Problems: A tip for all those users who forget to take off the lens cap before switching on the camera: make it a habit to flick the mode switch to "Play" when you switch off the camera. That way, when you switch it on ...

DSC-S70 is my first digital camera. Quality and performances are astonishing. His diminutive size and his 64 Mb Memory Stick converts it in the perfect companion in an intense photographic session. Magnificent performances of the rechargeable Infolithium Battery. I'm waiting for 128 or 256 Mb Memory Sticks. Problems: In a nerve situation, the delay between shots is eternal. It has an strange "computing" noise that can affect his proper noise records.

Great Camera! Even for the beginner. Combined with a good printer and it elimnates the need for film & developing. I've previously owned a mavica, and the S70 is far better. Movie mode is nice and flash is really at showing the real colors. Battery life, what can I say: you gotta love info-lithium. Problems: 8mb Memory Stick, Whats the Use? Delay in shutter speed is a little anoying, but easy to get used to.

A great camera for the money. Great pics but a little unnatural in colour ... seems to be boosted in saturation! Aimed for the amature...less concerned about tweaking settings. Great Battery life, easy screen display. Problems: Also now hearing "digital" Noise while the camera is actively focusing!!! listen closely near the speaker .. does yours do this?

I bought this model surely because its proven higher image resolution (I am not not meaning the pixel number!) than that of Nikon CP-990 and Olympus C-3030. But I am a little disappointed because... Problems: (1) There are no info about photography conditons displayed in the PLAY mode, such as the f-number, shutter speed, ASA, EV. With all these info handy on LCD, a photographer can sharpen his/her skills and be accustomed to this camera faster. (2) Since this is not a camera with fully ...

My choices were the Olympus 3030 and the Sony S70. I have tested both extensively before buying. The sony is the best bang for the buck and also is very user friendly. The 8mb that it comes with is really a joke. I have taken about 500 pictures with the 64mb stick and the battery had much more to go. I love the fact that the battery is rechargeable. Overall I like the camera BUT..... Problems: Here are the cons.....If you accidentally leave the lens cap on, you get this error message ...
