Hello everyone, Hope you are well. I was just checking the sensor ratings in Dxomark and when I compared RX1, RX1R and D810, RX1R came up having a lower DR ratings that RX1. I took a screenshot here: http://www.mf-photography.com/Misc/i-NjLK3q3/0/O/Screenshot_2014-07-27-06-41-22.png Anybody who owns both or have used either, can you please share your experience? RX1R is a newer model without the OLPF, and other than that, I was not aware of any other differences. Thank you very...

All, This might be a simple fix.  I read the manual but maybe I'm missing it. Say I want to set one of my custom buttons 1,2 or 3 for Black and White.  I know how to navigate to get to the setting and it holds it to one of the customs when I'm shooting however if I click to another setting and go back to that same custom setting I just used, all the settings reset.  So you have to go back and keep setting it to Black and White. Is there a way to keep or save a B&W setting? Thanks, Tom And...

I love my RX1R for daytime use. But at night, despite its  FF sensor and ability to go up to 3200 without much issue, the focusing and noise levels above 6400 could be better. This is where Df could fill the gap, night time high ISO photos. But the only 35mm lens I have is the old 35/2.8AIS which is pretty good, but not at the same level of the Zeiss 35/2 Sonnar on the RX1R. I need some feedback on the following choices: 1. Sigma 35mm ART - bar none best IQ, with additional benefit of AF,...

I'm considering these two lenses because I don't have a good prime and wide to mid-telephoto zoom for both my D800E and Df. First, the Sigma 24-105mm ART lens. Unfortunately early reviews such as the one on cameralabs.com shows really poor edge performance even when stopped down. Even if it is better than my 24-85VR (of which IQ I detest), D800E may just exacerbate all its flaws. The alternative is to use it for my Df but this camera is not suitable for a long zoom in terms of weight...

All of the sudden on the eve of my first trip to Cuba, I'm having doubts about my camera/lens list. At first I was going to just bring the RX1R and GR, since my favorite FLs are 35mm and 28mm for street and architecture. But then the more I think about it, the more confused I get. Any thoughts for the following alternatives? 1. D800E + Sigma 35mm ART for best IQ, RX1R as backup 35mm, GR in pocket (missing longer FLs) 2. D800E + Sigma 35mm ART for best IQ, Df + Sigma 24-105mm to cover...

Would there be an RX1R replacement in the near future? I am planning to pick this camera up for vacation uses, any idea if I should wait it out or anything else for recommendation? Thanks in advance!

I just purchased a brand new Sony RX1R from sony.com but I tested out the camera and noticed that my first picture started at DSC00829. I am wondering if I have gotten a refurbished camera instead. I would have thought it would start at DSC001.

Is there a reason why I can't find a single picture or thread regarding the use of a ring light like the Sony HVL-RL1 in conjunction with an RX1? Is it just not practical, impossible, or what? Also, where can I find multicolor lens filters and trick lenses for the RX1R? I want to toy with them in video mode. Lastly, what is a quality all-around lens filter for windy, sandy, rainy shoots to protect the lens? Help a noob? ;-)

Hello, Does anyone know how the video on the Sony RX1R compare to the video on the RX1?  Is there any kind of difference, or improvement, in not having the low-pass filter for video? Thanks, Thomas
