Would there be an RX1R replacement in the near future? I am planning to pick this camera up for vacation uses, any idea if I should wait it out or anything else for recommendation? Thanks in advance!

I just purchased a brand new Sony RX1R from sony.com but I tested out the camera and noticed that my first picture started at DSC00829. I am wondering if I have gotten a refurbished camera instead. I would have thought it would start at DSC001.

Is there a reason why I can't find a single picture or thread regarding the use of a ring light like the Sony HVL-RL1 in conjunction with an RX1? Is it just not practical, impossible, or what? Also, where can I find multicolor lens filters and trick lenses for the RX1R? I want to toy with them in video mode. Lastly, what is a quality all-around lens filter for windy, sandy, rainy shoots to protect the lens? Help a noob? ;-)

Hello, Does anyone know how the video on the Sony RX1R compare to the video on the RX1?  Is there any kind of difference, or improvement, in not having the low-pass filter for video? Thanks, Thomas

I have an RX1r as my only full-frame sensor camera, and when packing lightly, I'd like to use it to stitch for shots wider than the 35mm lens. Here's what I know right now: 1) I have a RRS L plate/grip on the camera right now2) I would like to stitch both vertically and horizontally3) I am not looking for actual panoramas, just stitching enough 35mm shots to simulate a 14-20mm...

What would be a reasonable price for a used RX1R?   I have been seriously considering it but don't want to pay full MSRP.  --Dave

I've not had to use my RX1R in the studio until recently, but so far without success because its hotshoe, although ISO compatible and standard-sized, doesn't take my Pocket Wizard TT1 triggers or any of the Nikon flashes. There are a couple of user reports claiming that Pocket Wizard Plus II/III is compatible with the Sony cameras with the new MI hotshoe, but can other owners of Sony models with the new MI hotshoe confirm this?

greetings to all! i just got myself an RX1R, love everything especially the marvelous IQ. sosuch different coming from a rather small sensor camera Nikon V1. however, i discovered the aperture ring isn't as solid as i expected. very often i find myself sliding the aperture value between two value where the white line doesn't meet on both side. it did click into the desired position, just that i often overshot it and hanging between two values. watched a lot of reviews, hands on, and unboxing,...
