I'm new to photography, and been using my RXMii a lot on my travels. I like taking candid shots of moving people or object, which is the reason I have my camera set on Shutter mode all the time, so I don't have to deal with blurry photos. However, I like taking quick snapshots and don't have a lot of opportunity to set the focus manually. I always rely on pressing the button half-way through for auto focus before taking the shot. But some of the pictures of people's faces are still out of...

Dear RX100M2 users, I observed that auto flashlight doesn`t work correct in my camera. Sometimes I have situation that during take photos in low light place (not very dark), flash doesn`t start and my photos are bad quality. I must turn on it manually. Did you observe such situation also in your RX100M2 ? Should I send back device on warranty ? I like this camera very much but Auto mode is not so intelligent for me.

Hello, For the second time this week, I almost left my Sony RX100M2 in a taxi. Well, I actually did leave it both times... I was just very lucky that the taxi drivers each checked their rear seat for belongings once I got out of the taxi. Just a busy week for me. Anyway, I am now thinking about purchasing some sort of Bluetooth or RFID alarm sticker that I can place on my camera's case (I have a Pelican 1010 in which I keep my camera). I've seen products online that described a sticker-type...

Hi all - thank you in advance for reading! Some background: I am very much an amateur/novice/beginner who loves taking photos of my family, friends, and travels and would like to learn more about photography. Right now I have a Canon s100, I've wanted to upgrade for some time - I generally think the camera takes great pictures but in low light it has been pretty awful recently. Then the shutter-release button stopped working two weeks ago, I was told this would be about $200 to fix, which is...

Hello all, I'm wanting to take my new sony rx100m2 on vacation with me but I don't want to take a laptop with me. I can transfer files to my ipad for the camera, but the iPads 16gb of memory isn't enough to store all of my photos and videos for the trip. I would like to find an external wireless hard drive that I can use with the iPad. I would need to be able to read and write to the drive from the iPad. Is anyone using this setup or does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!Nick

After asking several questions on these forums, (thank you to everyone who has helped so far) and loads of research, dp's buying guides, etc, I think I have narrowed my choice down to three.  Can I trouble you for some advise, what your personal preference would be? I know that they aren't really all in the same class, but I want a camera that is smaller and easier to transport than my DSLR, has good IQ (particularly in low light) and good connectivity.  I like the idea of controlling the...

Hi, I'm new here and would love a bit of help.  I'm looking to replace my old point and shoot, or compact camera before an upcoming trip over seas.  I know I want good quality optics, good low light capability, and ability to fit it in my pockets.  I would also like to have some sort of wifi or NFC, but don't need long zoom or view finder for this camera.  This has brought me to the RX100 mark 2...and a few questions.  Assuming I purchase the Mark 2, can anyone confirm that it will work with...

I had Nikon D5000 with Nikon 18-200 Lens. Looking to get a small Compact camera for travel. Narrow down to Leica D Lux-6, Sony RX100 II or RX100 III. And on some review Panasonic LX7 is same as D Lux-6. I like good quality of photo. However, for my Nikon D500 shot, I always use 8Mb pixel to save space. comparing the photo shots using D5000 with 18-200 lens vs Nikon Coolpixel 8700 (my old one), even using same 8Mb pixel settings, the photo quality is different. LX7/D Lux6 seems has very good...
