Does anyone have any nighttime star photos taken with the hx90v? I'm trying to decide if I want this camera or the rx100 ii. Is it even possible to do with this camera?  Thanks for the help! Jeni

I'm looking for a compact camera which I can carry with me all the time. It serves as a 2nd camera. I also have a dSLR (soon to be replaced with a m4/3 camera). Reading all sorts of reviews I was very tempted to buy a Canon G7X (or a RX100M2), but I should consider my needs as well as my budget. The Canon Powershot S120 came to mind. A sweet control ring, touchscreen, 1/1.7" sensor, manual focus. Nice little gem and size/weigh wise better than G7X/RX. However, then I stumbled upon the...

Hello, Bit of a dilemma here which compact camera to choose, Sony RX100M2 or Canon G7X. It replaces my broken Canon IXUS camera. The cameras cost basically the same in Europe (Amazon.IT, Amazon.DE). There's plenty comparisons with RX100M3, but I'm definitely not after a M3. I like the Canon IXUS camera for its colours, user interface and pocket-friendliness. I carry it along with me most of the time, but it limits me too much. I also got a Nikon dSLR which I used a lot, but I ever since I got...

Hi all, sorry if this has been done to death. I installed Playmemories home on my PC and set up wireless on my RX100M2. The camera talks to my router fine, but Windows seems a bit hit & miss on picking up the connection request. If I open netwoks from control panel and refresh the network devices view, that seems to kickstart the connection. If anyone knows any tweaks or settings that make the image transfer process more reliable and seamless, I'd be grateful for some hints. --How the heck...

Currently, pictures are saved in different folders for each day. Some days I take only 2 pictures and it creates a separate folder for those two pictures and I end up with a lot of folders.  How can I have one folder per months? Thanks.

Hi, It's been a while that I posted my first thread about getting my first dslr-like camera. I bought my Nex-6, and I'm quite happy with it. My only concern is that sometimes the camera doesn't seem to work as intended... I don't know if it's normal or it's an issue, but I began to think that my copy has a sensor problem (I bought 2nd hand from ebay). Sometimes when I half press the shutter the image in the viewfinder and on lcd, for a fraction of a second seems well balanced and lit, then...

I have an RX100ii and have never really come up with a reliable procedure for copying photos to my Android phone (Samsung Ace 3). Can anyone explain how to do this, step by step with minimal fuzz? I have some basic questions... - Are images copied from the camera to the phone through NFC or through WiFi?- If through WiFi, is NFC only needed to perform recognition / handshake between devices?- Does PlayMemories need to be actually running on the phone all the time? My procedure is typically...

I've got this sitting in the Canon forum as well, but it was suggested I post the same question here. I need a camera in the house that my wife can just pick up and use, and that I can take and get some really good shots from. I've done some extensive reading up on both the G7X and the RX100M2, I've had a play with both in the store, and I really like both cameras. In all of my reading and research, I honestly believe I will get better results out of the Sony, but I am unsure on how this will...

I'll start this by stating I have a moderate idea on what I am doing when running a camera in manual mode.
