Hi Guys Just purchased a Sony RX100 ii camera works great however, I cannot get it to connect to my pc via the usb cable supplied.  I have downloaded Play Memories and I am running windows 7 on an HP laptop all my other devices are working fine in the usb port its as if there is no signal from the camera I was wondering if something has to be turned on in the menu or if any of the dials need to be in a certain position Many Thanks

At the moment: Nex5t with 16-50mm lense is $498   or Nex6L with 16-50mm lense is $520 or Nex5t with 16-50mm and 55-210mm from best buy for $650 We've really only ever had point and shoots.  My latest was a Canon SX260 and my wife's was a FZ35.  I just picked up a Sony RX100 II (my Canon is going to my mom, hers just crapped out).  My wife was really impressed with how well the RX takes photos (the background blurring out behind the subject etc.)  While looking at cameras at best buy she did...

I am looking for a good point and shoot that has decent image quality. I only want to shoot in auto. Initially, I was looking at the Sony RX100M2 but many people complained about the slow shutter speed when in auto, blurring images. Also, I looked at the Canon S120 but people were complaining about the lens error and the bad battery life, especially shooting cameras. Are there any good cameras , preferably under 800 dollars. Oh, and I already ordered the Sony Rx100M2 online some days ago but...

a (probably) silly question. Love my new Rx100M2 I bought the LensMate kit yesterday with a 52mm polarizer, and it works well. With many non-SLR cameras, the metering is not done through the lens - It is done from elsewhere on the camera. I'm worried that if I have a polarizing lens on the RX100M2, and the metering system does not "know" about it, it will not compensate for it in an automatic mode. In that case I would have to make a manual (roughly) one stop adjustment for the polarizing...

I am looking for a second camera to fit in a jeans/ shorts pocket for pics of 3 year old and 3 month old (currently) out and about, and on vacations. Out of these two camera's what would you buy? I am coming from Pentax DSLR's and K-01 and shooting primes, which I will keep for other uses and when the situation calls. Here's my thoughts. Ricoh GR pro's: 1.) APS-C sensor matching the Pentax k-5, in your pocket 2.) snap focus seems like a great idea for my subjects. 3.) Great interface praised...

Hi, I want to buy a professional compact camera and I wonder which one is better. I saw both sample images and realized that canon's colors are better. Please guide me.

Hello! I've finally gotten all of the parts together that allow me to capture timelapse photos on my Sony RX100 M2. Below is the proposed schematic that I've shared before, and I can now verify that it works as I'd hoped (because I have just received the 2.5mm male to 2.5mm male cables in the mail, completing my acquisitions): Working schematic of how I am able to shoot timelapses with my Sony RX100M2  With the technical capability to capture timelapse photos with my Sony RX100 M2 now...

HI Quite new to the photography world and reading hundreds of reviews of everything from CanonS120 to Sony RX10 has my head spinning. Hoping to get some guidance from the people who seem to know what they are talking about.  My background in photography doesn't extend beyond the use of smartphone cameras. I am thinking of purchasing a proper camera to create better memories than what i can with my smartphone now. The top specs are: Portable - to be used atleast couple of times a week in the...
