Hi guys My RX100 M2 takes between 3 and 6 seconds before it lets me take another picture in single shot mode. This seems very long to me. According to this review it's supposed to be far below 1 second: http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/sony-rx100-ii/sony-rx100-iiA6.HTM I'm shooting in RAW+JPEG (setting it to RAW only doesn't help) and I'm using a 64GB Sandisk Ultra micro SDXC UHS-I card. I found this thread describing the same...

I have used Canon 580EX and 550EX flashes in manual mode on the hotshoe of my RX100m2. They work well and reliably. I want to use my YN-622C-TX or my YN-622C radio trigger on the RX100m2, but the radio triggers never fire the off camera flash when the trigger is on the hotshoe. The trigger's test button will fire the Canon flashes off camera, so the trigger-to-flash link is working. I would think that whichever contacts on the hotshoe are triggering the Canon flash when it is on the camera...

So I'm entirely new to "actual" photography. I once had a Nikon D5200, but with the inability to spend $1k on a nice lens, and not wanting to lug it around on special outings I decided to sell it and buy a Sony Mark III. What amazes me now after a friend pointed this out, is how I'm supposed to get any sort of depth of field in my shots with the camera in auto. With the aperture kept open as bright as f1.8 at full wide, I'm thinking I could have a problem getting friends' faces in focus even...

Hey all,    I'm relatively new to photography even though I've been here for over a year. I do have the Gary Friedman book on the RX100M2, just no time to read it. My question to you is, how do I get good indoor shots of my 11 month old daughter. Sometimes I can get some really nice ones, but I'd like to get it down to a science rather than luck. Here is the issue, if I set it to Auto mode, it works pretty well, but the auto focus takes a long time to get it right, which usually results in...

Probably completely normal, but thought I'd check with owners: on the RX100MII (i.e. the Mark 2) do you see a brief flash of the three orange dashes in the frames remaining counter (upper left area of the LCD) when returning to the shooting screen after playing back an image?  For some reason it catches my eye and I've noticed it usually happens after exiting any form of image review or playback, either by half-pressure on the shutter release or pressing the playback button again.  It's...

Hello, I am new to photography (I did have some lessons but never went into the hobby fully) and I'm preparing for a world tour (no extreme conditions except humidity). In the next 6 months I will be buying all the gear needed to do what I like best: portraits, street photography, and a bit of landscapes, during night and day. I plan to split my uses between two cameras: The Sony RX100 2 (that I have) for street photography; The Sony a6000 (that I'll buy) for portraits and landscapes. Because...

hi all --- I am not sure if this has been covered before but I tried using the search tool but did not yield any good results for me.  I have a RX100M2, and I transfer my photos via WIFI to my iPad Air 2 which I use to upload to my Facebook account after some tweaks. My problem is that when they get posted in Facebook, the IQ is severely degraded! It's very bad! I know Facebook compresses the photos, but I just want to check with the community if you have some tweaks in your IOS/Android...

Greetings to the wonderful Sony NEX E-mount forum regulars, A few years ago I sold my Canon gear (5DmkII and L lenses) to fund the purchase of the three Sigma DP Merrill cameras. While I was, and am still, thrilled with the IQ of the Merrill cameras (the IQ of the files is incredibly hard to beat), I am growing tired of the quirks of the cameras and software support. The Merrills are EXTREMELY slow, and require a great deal of care in creating the images (I shoot them with the same mindset as...

Hi all,I need some help buying a new camera. This will be my first, more serious camera. For years I used a simple Sony Cybershot compact camera. I want to step up to a more advanced camera now.I want a (relatively small) camera which has the best image quality available for around €500 (I live in the Europe). I want it to shoot nice pictures both in daylight and at night.Because I want it to be small (not necessarily pocketable), I think a mirrorless camera or a high end compact is the way to...

Hello, I have a question about transferring files from an RX100 MKII to a smartphone. If your phone does not have NFC, is the only way to initiate a transfer via menu diving to the entry in the RX100 MKII's menu system (which is a fairly clunky way to go about it)? My other cameras (NEX-5R, A6000, A7 and A7R) all allow you to initiate file transfer without having to dive into the menus (ie: via a button) I went through all of the button customizations and did not see an entry for assigning...
