Simple question from a simpleton. I own an RX-1 and an A7II. Is it worth the money for me to invest in the 35 1.4 Distagon or is the FL covered adequately by my RX-1? I understand there is no stabilization on the RX-1 and there is the full stop difference in speed going from f2.0 to f1.4. Also, the only review for the 35 1.4 on B&H is not good. Yet Steve Huff loves it ;)   Who should I believe? Please weigh in! --http://www.flickr.com/photos/joelcure/

I found a local Sony store that has cameras on display for customers to play around with. I had a brief crack at the RX100 Mk3, RX10, RX1 and the A7R. One thing I noticed was the AF lock acquisition of the A7R was significantly worse than my experience with the A7. The store somehow had a 24mm/1.8 lens on the camera, but I don't supposed that would have any impact on the AF performance of the body. It was a decently lit environment. At f1.8 I was able to shoot at ISO400 or so, so it was by no...

Hello! I am new to digital, and sony RX1 is my first "such" camera. I have about three decades of photography experience behind, but translating it into the RX1 interface seems slightly beyond my grasp, especially given the rather poor user manual that I have. I would like to ask you to help me set the B+W Creative style, that allows shooting a BW jpeg and a raw color. I'd like to associate this style with one of those three memory positions, that is... uhm.. 1, 2 and 3. I tried to press the...

After downloading Yosemite a few weeks ago to my 2012 MacBook, and the Aperture update that goes with it, Aperture can no longer handle the RAW files from my RX1 - the images become corrupted and the machine slows to a crawl, eventually becoming unusable. Apple has tried several fixes over the phone with me, including re-downloading Yosemite and Aperture, and also trying it in a new hard drive partition, but nothing has worked. Does anyone have any insights into what is the fix for...

My 24z is glued to my a6000. I love everything about this combo with the exception that I would prefer it to be more pocketable, and more subtle since I like to use it close up on people. I have realized that (for now) 35mm is hands-down my favourite focal length. I have seen a lot of samples from the RX1 and I can definitely see a visual benefit to using it over the 24z+a6000 for what I like to shoot (indoor gatherings, kids, and some travel). Maybe not huge benefit, but the RX1 images can...

Hey guys, Just got a Sony TGA-1 thumb grip for my RX1R, and when its locked in, there is movement/wobble in the thumb piece (up/down).  Is this just a defective unit or have others experienced this? I'm really kind of surprised by the build quality for how much it costs, the locking mechanism is plastic.  It would be great to hear if others experience wobble from theirs. Thanks all. Cheers

Unfortunately I did not apply a screen protector on the LCD of my RX1R and I now have a few distracting scuffs. I'm considering applying this Sony screen protector Sony PCKLM15 LCD Protector for RX1: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-PCKLM15-Protector-DSC-RX1-Black/dp/B009UOIAEU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1420054793&sr=8-1&keywords=sony+rx1+screen+protector Does anyone know if this will diminish the appearance of preexisting scuffs on the LCD screen? Or is this just a waste of time at this...

Hi I'm thinking seriously about getting the A77II One of the few features I wish it had, but hasn't is a pivoting EVF: I find the pivoting EVF on my NEX-5 very useful when the camera is on a monopod Does anybody know if the FDA-EV1MK EVF which is really meant for RX1 (and supposedly also works on the RX100II) will also work on the A77II to give a 'pivoting EVF' feature on that camera? Many thanks for any answers!

Does the self-timer on the A7s refocus just before taking the actual picture to ensure that it is in focus? I ask beacuse I have the RX1 that doesn't: It focuses only when the trigger is pressed, not when taking the actual picture - making the self-timer less usefull than it could have been... Thanks in advance!

Hi! What's your experience with plugging in the Nissin i40 flash to the Sony RX1 or RX1R cameras? Someone asked this same question too at https://www.flickr.com/groups/rx1/discuss/72157648912314258/  , please post your finding there too, or link bank from there to here. I guess the main things to clarify are  * It works at all,  * The flash sits well in the mount?,  * The TTL sync and other functionality is fine?, and,  * Wil the the Nissin i40 give AF light to the RX1/RX1R? And maybe last,...
