I acquired a P92 back in early 2004, it was my first digital camera and it complemented my Minotla 7000i and 3000i film SLRS. The camera served well but finally conked out early 2009. It was very slow as other individuals have indicated. But the images in terms of lack of noise and coloured fringes were superior to my current W115 and even my eldest sons W220. Problems: Shutter Lag.

I've had the DSC-P92 since early 2004. I've never been satisfied with it, sadly. I'm not thrilled with the image quality, especially at night or indoors: the pictures appear muddy and grainy. I've often joked that this is a magical camera that takes pictures of the future, but that it does so by waiting after you push the shutter release until the future arrives, then taking the picture. That is to say, shutter lag is a problem. The fact that you can't zoom while recording renders the video ...

I was in a pawn shop, eyeing the cameras. Clerk approaches, trying to make a sale and I say that the cameras aren't that good and...they cut me off and point out the Sony DSC-P92 that was obscured. 5 Megapixels? Let me see that. I race over to a Radio Shack and research the camera, which I knew nothing about. I race back and fling the money at the clerk, $195.00 out the door. This was right after the camera was released. I shoot with a D1X and and a Canon G2 (since upgraded to G6) and I ...

It just died after 7 months Problems: I bought this camera 7 months back and was very happy with it till now. Last week it just died on me. I am not getting any power at all. I changed the batteries, tried with a power supply but nothing is happening. Sony is saying that the camera is under warrantee but I have to pay $150 labor charges and there is no guarantee that they can fix it. I am really disappointed with SONY and never going to buy a SONY product again. I had to give them bad rating ...

This is my second SONY Digital Camera (the first being a DSC-P30 purchased 2 years earlier). The image resoloution is far and away noticeably better being 5.0 megapixels .vs the 1.3 camera used earlier. The only disappointment is the lens quality is still lacking, and the crispness of the image is yet to be at the level of my old Minolta Film SLR (SLT-201 purchased in 1975). I do like the ease of use that having the auto-lenscap feature and not having a lens-cap dangle in my way as was the ...

This is my first digital camera and I was in the market for a 5MP camera that took regular batteries and this fitted the bill. This camera for me, takes excellent photos during the day, but like what is said about many cameras at night it is difficult to achieve good results (ie shots that dont have too much grain in the background). The 2 rechargable batteries supplied are great and last a good deal of time (around 80 shots for me with screen on most of the time). It is worth buying a ...

I recently moved up to a 5MP camera from an old Fuji 1MP camera in anticipation of an upcoming vacation. I had been searching online for a new camera, but found the P92 at a local retailer for a good price. I'm very pleased with the P92 so far. Positives include great picture quality, extremely easy to use with auto settings, fast start-up time, and nice form factor. The only negatives I have seen so far have been the lack of uncompressed photo format and my difficulty in getting good ...

DSC-P92 is excellent! I have used many digital cameras in the past and have always liked sony best. I currently own a sony DSC-P10, DSC-V1 and DSC-P92. After reading everyones review on this camera, it is clear that alot of people don't know how to use it! The screen going blank after shooting a pic is NOT because it is writing the picture to memory or the shutter lag, it is the power save feature being activated while the flash capacitor is recharging. If you don't want the screen to go ...

After having read the reviews on this, and many other, cameras, I decided on this one. It would seem that they are all trade offs. Some of the top picks, (editors choice, ZD- Net), have issues with dial indicators wearing off, no battery power indicator, and a variety of other things. There were a few things I needed. I travel on a motorcycle. I need something small. Size is more important than weight. I need something that I can throw a set of Duracells in when needed because there is not ...
