I've discovered several potential pitfalls with digital cameras after using a Kodak DC240 for three years. I bought the CyberShot DSC-P9 to overcome them and it has succeeded. The worst problem I had previously was inability to focus in moderately low light, e.g. under a table. With no manual focus, these shots were completely impossible with my old camera. The Sony has an autofocus (AF) light that overcomes this well (also manual focus I haven't needed to use). Surprisingly, many other ...

I have been using a Kodak DC-50 for well over 5 years and was in dire need of an upgrade that could last me another 5 years. So far I have been very happy with this camera. The quality of pictures are very nice. What made me decide on this camera was the movie mode. This was the only one I could find that was limited to the amount of memory the camera has. I love that option. The video quality is actually quite good for a non video camera. Problems: Sometimes a picture will turn out ...

not great for night photography Problems: I like this camera for everything until i used it the night of my daughters first birthday party. I had to let my friend shoot the pictures for me with flash set to High Mode. Some pictures looked so bad as if flash was not used and the noise was too much to even correct with software as it was messing up contrast. Great camera for outdoor use but not in dark conditions.

I had a P1 for 3 years. Really want to buy a new DC since more and more on shelf. Thought about getting a manual function type..such as S45 or F717. Finally, I come back to Cyber shot P9. I am not a photographer. Having this camera to take down nice views, things want to remeber on trips... Don't really have a chance to adjust all the manual functions before taking down pics. I believe P9 is good enough as a daily camera. The only concern I am having is the battery life. It wan't so bad ...

I wanted a very small, take anywhere point and shoot camera with great pictures. After reading all of the magazine/web reports by professional testers, and trying in the shops at length, ALL the small ones I found this is the best. You cannot compare it to a big SLR type, or even the full size S85. Thats not a fair comparison. But for this category this is the one that exels - and it shows in my wonderful bright, sharp pictures.

A gem! Amazingly crystal clear photos from a camera that just drops into your purse! Simple to use (even for an amateur like me), and you dont have to take the battery out every time like all the other small cameras. This one has a strong flash as well. I printed out my A4 size (8x10) pictures and friends thought they were from a shop! I like the skin colours, and you can adjust the sharpness for a softer look on portraits. Nice sexy body as well....:) Problems: Manual could have been in ...

Excellent all round camera, easy to use and small enought to take everywhere in your jacket pocket. Packed with features - and takes great movies as well. I am using an HP 130 photoprinter which gives me prints like they came from Kodak. Last night I took some views over the marina using the twilight mode and the results were amazing. I am not a professional but my pictures look like they came out of a studio. Highly recopmmended Problems: None at all.
