I have had this camera for two days. I am sad to say that the unnatural green (and to a lesser extent, the red /blue) is so bad that I cannot bear taking pictures with it. It is a potentially good camera with lots of features and good paper specifications. However, Sony are throwing their good reputation away with this camera. One can forgive many things, but poor image quality and shocking green is not forgivable. Wake up Sony, please! Problems: Unnatural green colour Poor image quality ...

I purchased the P-71 two months ago, and I have been really impressed with ease of operation. I purchased a 64mb stick and extra batteries and have not had any problems with battery time or memory space. For the everyday Grandfather who is constantly getting shots of his Granddaughter, I could not have picked better.

I am very pleased with this camera. It is the first digital I have owned. Image quality is excellent and value for price is tops. I went straight to the 128MB Memory Stick - It will hold 80 full-resolution shots. On-screen menus are straight forward and easy to use with a little practice - however menus are hard to see in bright outdoor conditions. Problems: Batteries go pretty fast, particularly when using the flash. Though the flexibility of using standard AA batts is great.

Great camera for beginners like me. Just point and click. Transferring pics from MS to PC works like a breeze. But i suggest using a MS reader or MS reader with mouse (see MSAC US5 from sonystyle.com) to easily transfer pics. Problems: LCD smudges easily and cannot be cleaned by a damp cloth or tissue. But that can be fixed by using magic tape to lift off dust or oil residues from fingers. Overall, this camera is great for beginners and/or probably even to the amateur photographer.

Got the P71 after returning the Canon 330: The S330 was constantly missing shots in low light situations and the strong focus-assist light on the Sony gives it better low light performance. I also like the AA rechargable batteries over the expensive proprietary Canon ones. Last reason I returned the Canon was the lack of a "last shot review" feature which is SO handy on the Sony. On the Canon, you need to constantly change to playback mode to see the last shot you took. Oh, and the Sony ...

The camera is great. One special god sing is, if you have no battery you can use standard batteries mignon 1.5 V you can buy at every store!! Problems: Sad that the cam don’t have sound and it is difficulty to handle with the 4-way toggle switch. Hard to press the canter to activate functions and really would like it to be easier to delete a picture without going through two menus.

Excellent camera. Great pictures and well worth the money. The salesman tried to scare me into buying expensive model, glad I did not listen to him. Someone in his review mentioned you cannot use AA batteries. I used them they work fine. I used the duracell ultra ones. Good to keep a bunch handy in case the rechargeable ones give out. Also a 128 MB stick is highly recommended. All in all a very good camera.

I bought this camera after I had bad luck with a new Olympus 720C UZ. I wanted the 8x zoom feature of the Olympus. But, the quality of the photos were terrible. I then went to BestBuy and spent 2 hours playing with the Sony cameras. I then got the P71 the next day for $349 at Circuit City (the $50 price cut surprised me). And, I must say this is an excellent camera. It is very easy to work, the menu's are simple, the size is great, and the picture quality is very good. I was able to start ...

I bought this DSC-P71 and is working great, excellent quality and resolutions, nice design and comfortable. Auto lense cover, so you dont need to worry about. SONY is one of the best digital camera sellers. Buy one, your gonna love it. The pictures are so real that my dog is barking to itself when I show pictures in TV. ;) Btw, SONY is giving a $20 e-coupon till now when you buy a Digital Camera. Also compatibility with XP is amazing too. (also in Max OS X, try it with iPhoto) Problems: You ...
