As others have commented, extremely fast operation--I reach into my shirt pocket, pressing the power button, and it's always ready to go before I can get it to my eye. I bought this to have something handy for social events like dinners and office parties. The fast f/2.8 lens lets me shoot without flash, and the Smart Zoom feature gives me some flexibility in framing without cost in terms of image quality or--unlike cameras with variable-aperture zooms--lens speed. I like the "auto" ...

This is our 2nd Sony Cybershot. Our first was a DSC-P71. Battery drain on rechargeable batteries is much better than on our loder Sony. Very quick start up, and faster recycle between flashes than the DSC-P71. I never even tried with alkaline batteries. Buy a third party battery charger kit, you'll get 4 batteries and fast 2 hour charger. Having one access opening for both the memory stick and the batteries is simpler and easier to use than separate compartments that our older Sony has. Good ...

At this price 4.1 mega pixels is quite a lot. Have taken lots of pictures in macro mode and all were excellent. Also captured some good night scene with tripod and flash-off mode. The default 0 exposure value is insufficient for outdoors. I prefer +1 exposure for outdoors. Problems: The supplied alkaline batteries were weak and could last hardly 20 shots. Now I use duracell and its much better.

I got 3 of this camera for cashing in my casino comp points, and couldn't be happier. I listed the other two on ebay with a link to the owner's manual and a sample photo in the ad. I will leave the sample photo on even after the ad ends, as a sample photo was unavailable elsewhere, Presently my listings are only at 100. But they include extras that sony neglected to include. Check ebay auctions # 3857953491 and 3858115917. The auctions end dec 10 and 11, and include a charger/ batteries ...

The Sony was choosen on its size and both physical and Mega pixels.Small enough to fit in your pocket. Hit the pwr and its ready to go. Thats the reason I bought this cam. Instant ON..I like that, no load time. The features are a little hard at first, but like anything else play with it a bit and you get it figured out. I havent tried much with the Movie side of it, but the pictures are decent enough, and when I grab enough cash I'll get 2 gig stick and never spend another penny on memory. ...

I was surprised to read previous comments regarding battery life. I have the same batteries in the camera for over 60 images. I have been carrying spare AA around due to the other reviews but have not had to use them! Perhaps this is becausae I do not use the LCD display but only the viewfinder. You can turn the LCD off or on with the small button located above it. I just returned from a mini vacation with superior images - and the same batteries. Problems: None

THIS IS MY FIRST DIGICAM AND I HAVE TO SAY THAT I'M IMPRESSED! THE FEATURES THAT PROVIDES AND THE PICTURE QUALITY WORTH MORE THAN 199$ AT BEST BUY WHICH I BOUGHT IT.ONE OF THE THINGS I DIDN'T LIKE WAS THE BATTERY CONSUMPTION, YOU NEED TO CARRY A FEW PACKS OF BATTERIES ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE ON HOLIDAY I GUESS I HAVE TO BUY RECHARGEABLE ONES! FURTHER MORE YOU NEED TO BUY AN EXTRA MEMORY STICK PRO IF YOU WANT TO USE THE VIDEO MODE WHICH IS QUITE GOOD.ANYWAYS I DON'T THINK I COULD FIND SOMETHING ...

I just got this camera two days ago and i must say its an awesome value-for-money camera, priced at $199 (bestbuy), i bought a memory stick pro along with it $99. Its working fine so far, the battery - as most people complain - isnt AWESOME but if you can get your hands on a good set of rechargables (i have four, use two and carry two in your camera case) .. then you should be just fine! :) the features are once again, impressive for the price listed above. multi shots, different flash ...

This is my 5th digicam. Its purpose will be as a backup for my Canon G3 and my Sony DSC-P93. The DSC-P41 is pretty solid, and takes great pictures. So far the only complaint I have is the cheesy plastic dust cover for the USB, and no optical zoom, only digital. For the price, 188.00 at Best Buy, I can't complain too much. It is a great little point and shooter. Problems: The battery life for alkalines (supplied) is bad, about 40 shots, then batteries are dead. I use 2100ma rechargables ...
