Problems: very poor time battery with alkaline ones ... high price at that time with no property (sony) battery very deficient eye ...

UPDATE 2009...camera still going strong..door broke a bit, but still holding..still takes great photos after being dropped in the water & as I said in 2007, zoom mechanism STILL functions 100%. All in all..this was a great camera for the price. I will use it till it's no longer functional. Update 2007, I don't know what happened, but the zoom mechanism FIXED ITSELF!!!?? Go figure....anyway my camera is still working 100%, and I LOVE IT.

This was my first digital camera. I purchased it by and large to replace my rangefinder snapshot camera since it was about the same size and ease to pack around. I could also use Adobe Photoshop Elements ver1.0 to process the pictures rather than get a CD from the lab. I very much like the memory stick system that SONY uses for storage. Problems: The lens assembly motor failed on me after just two years which warrented a $150 repair bill

I bought this used, as a back-up for my Nikon CP-950. I am very impressed and actually prefer using the Sony unless something really complex is involved. Sony really have put a lot of thought into making this camera as user friendly as possible, and still capable of quality photography. Battery life is far better than the Nikon, and so far, image quality is comparable too. Great buy as a used camera!

I bought this camera only because it allows the attachment of a wide angle lens that I already owned. I found that I also had to purchase a lithium battery (the camera did not include a battery) and a case. Even with the lithium battery the charge time is poor. The flash takes at least 30 seconds to charge for each picture. The camera body is plastic and feels cheap. On the positive side, the camera is easy to use and the picture quality is good but, these 2 positives do not outweigh the ...

I shopped around for a digital camera for about 1 year now, and I finally bought the DSC-p30, for $ 259.00 Canadian (Clearance at Walmart). I used it for about 4 weeks now, and am VERY impressed with this camera. People encouraged me to go for a high megapixel camera, and I was convinced that I was gonna buy a 3.1 megapixel camera. After a year of shopping around, and talking to people, I decided that I had NO NEED for a high megapixel camera. I wanted a camera the could take Great ...

I looked for a long time before I pulled the trigger on a digital camera, and "settled" on this one back in the spring. I got it for $179 at CompUSA. At that price, I figured I would turn it over to my son in a couple years, while learning the pitfalls in the process. It takes great non-action pictures, and the optical zoom is very good. I took 180 pictures in a week this summer, and never changed the batteries. I even got some respectable shots of fireworks. The complaints I have seen so ...

i pay for this cam 09.2001 in Austria 290,-EUR. Simillar cam costs 390-450 EUR. The bat is ok. 1800mA bat i make 100 pic at day and 50 pic by night(display off). Problems: if I make inside photos(in room) or in the evening, it makes small white dots(0,5-2mm on a 10*15Photo) on different parts of the picture, but not on all pictures.it looks like small whater dots. Sony-Austria dont know that problem and dont know some results for this problem. they changed 5X times the chip and optic. can ...

I was pretty delighted when I first got this camera as a back-up camera. It's very easy to use and the picture quality is good. I had much confidence in the brand and expected no problem. This is my fourth camera. I bought an infolithium battery and even an extra memory stick. I had much confidence in the camera that I decided to bring just this camera and a laptop for my vacation. But just 5 months (of sparce) usage, the camera started giving error message! Problems: The camera started ...
