I purchased this camera 3 weeks ago. I am by no means a good photographer, however wish to develop my skills. I liked that the camera was small, was 5 megapixels, and had a good video mode. I purchased it with an extra 128 meg card and it came to just over $1000.00 CAN with taxes. It took me about 3 weeks to figure out how to use all the items in the menues but once I learned them, they were quite easy to use. Some of the shots came out very very nice. Clarity and crispness were ...

I bought this camera and the Canon s400 with the goal of comparing them and keeping one. I chose these two because I wanted to optimize for small size while keeping the best image quality that I could obtain. This was to be my third generation digital camera and I had shot about 6000 pictures with a 2mpel Canon S10 over the prior three years. I shot about 100 pictures with this camera over two weeks. I shot the same pictures with the Canon S400 and compared them. Because I thought I might ...

Well this is my 1st digital camera and I did a lot of research prior to my purchase. I used a few internet forums and pro reviews. I went to the camera store and played with it. At 1st I thought I wanted a high quality SLR type but I what I really needed after soul searching was a point and shoot that was small enough to take with me without bulk, but with very high quality. I got it with the Sony DSC-P10. I also wanted short sound movies as an alternative vehicle for memories. This ...

This Camera is an excellent point and shoot for anyone who is looking for a small camera that packs a big punch. It has excellent features and takes a crisp picture. I believe that the previous postings that indicate that the p-10 doesn't take clear pictures weren't using the camera properly. I too got some blurry pictures initially then I realized that you need to hold the trigger button half way down to get the focus light on. After realizing this I have had nothing but clean clear ...

Its a great camera for it's size, i could change the resolution of my pics once taken that was pretty good easy to use, nice body, great construction, but i expected more picture quality from it, it could have great features, but the images are not so good as i expected, its a nice camera, but it did'nt filled my needs so i returned it. Problems: The macro it's not too good as other sony digicams. The terminal cover The sofware its so simple, it does'nt make any sense

Like the previous poster, I also had mixed feelings about this great little camera. This is my second camera, the first being a Canon S10. I've also been using my brother's Nikon Coolpix 5000 as well, so I guess I have something to compare the P10 to. On one hand, this camera had a lot of features that I really loved. But on the other, there were a few niggles that, once you get use to them, wouldn't be such a big deal. But ultimately I couldn't get over the very niggles that forced me, in ...

I've got mixed feelings towards this camera. My biggest complaint is the way it processes some shades of green (grass color looks artificially bright). You can see how the Sony processes Greens here: http://www.pbase.com/jcockfield/sonynikon There are a few other "quirks" I've found, but the greens are my biggest complaint. Here's my list: 1. Blown Highlights (common with many digicams, but the P10 seems much worse to my eyes than cameras I've owned in the past: Nikon Coolpix 950, Nikon ...

As with most of you, I too have "over researched" purchasing a digital camera, as if I were adopting a child! In the end, I honestly believe it all comes down to reading the entire owners manual (125 pages), and trying every feature. Only then can you appreciate the full extent of the camera. I've done this for both the Sony DSC-v1 and Sony P10. Keep in mind that I am an amateur photographer. Features & Functionality: Most 5MP digital cameras will provide everything you need to take great ...
