I go to trade shows a number of times a year where items of various sizes (from small desktop items to large furniture sized items) are displayed in spaces ranging from small hotel rooms to hotel meeting rooms. I've been using a Canon G9 for many years and it's served me pretty well but I've since come to the conclusion I need some refinements in a camera I'd use. The first is a wider lens. I need to get to 24 or 26mm I think, for being able to get all of a cramped display of larger items...

Hi, A friend of mine has a HX50v and her camera seems to work ok except when shooting video. The LCD's (and recordings) are extremely dark when recording video. I tried to check the settings and tried to adjust exposure via the exposure button, but that does not do anything. Does anyone have a solution? Or is this a case of RMA? Thanks for the answer! - Remy.

Hi, I'm helping a friend with setting up her camera. Since I'm not familiar with the Sony camera (I (have) owned some pocket Pannys) and I know you can get a lot more out of a camera by not using IAuto all the time, I'm looking for some good general P/A (S/M) settings for the following situation: - Most of the time she will have bright light conditions (travelling to Africa).- She will probably want to make (small/large) wildlife shots. Also, how good is the Panorama mode in the Sony? In my...

Hi, I've narrowed my search for a reasonable travelzoom down to two models; HX50V and TZ40. But I cannot decide at all! I favor the HX50V for it's size; it's "sits" more comfortably and steady in my hand. The TZ40 are slightly ahead when it comes to picture quality - at least from what I understand from several reviews. But they are very close as I read the reviews. What I need now is some real user input to; - ease of use/handling- picture quality- wifi setup and use towards IOS, Android...

Hi, I have owned and tested a few cameras during year, from dslr, super zoom, compact, fixed lens, etc. Now I have rx100 and hx50v, olympus sp350 and olympus c310. Rx100 is amazing considering image quality and build quality. There are times I absolutely love it and there are times a love the pictures from it, but seems to can not make (a bond with it), just doesn't feel right.  The hx50v is a lot worst especially in low light, the sp350 is slow as a turtle and eats batteries,... but I like...
