Hi, I would like to get a descent point and shoot camera, that is fast at focusing, produces good quality in lower light conditions (i.e. indoors or at bright night situations), however I also want to be able to print larger canvases (2' x 3') from some of my shots. I have been using Sony lower end series, e.g. HX30V, and the results are average (in all cases). I don't want an interchangeable lens system. I don't fully understand all the jargon about F stops, ISO, Aperture, etc. what I...

I need a compact camera to carry around with me while biking. I recently purchased a Sony HX30v and it is absolutely rubbish for pictures; I am sure this is due to the small sensor and overprocessing. Looking around I found a fuji xf1 on sale at £129 which seems a bargain with a 2/3 sensor. Can anyone recommend this camera? I am somewhat concerned about the several fatal "lense error" reports I have read which makes me question the durability of the mechanism.  Any advice on reliability is...

i currently have the HX30V, which iam prob returning for the RX100.. question is.....On the HX30V, it has Panorama:HR(10,480 x 4,096).  i do not see this feature listed for the RX100. does the RX100 have this, or is there a way i can get the panorama size just as big??i like the Panorama:HR(10,480 x 4,096) on the HX30V because it shows so much more scenery in the picture from top to bottom.

i just recieved this camera in the mail today. Sony HX30V. It seems the picture quility is great, in regular light, low light with the flash on or off.The issue iam having is, when ever you take a photo with the flash on in any light setting that the flash will make the area brighter, you end up seeing a shadowed area directly on the oppisite/ diagnal side of where the flash is. no matter what i do this occurs. its worse when you take close up pictures with the flash, the area is pretty big....

The pictures I am getting from the Canon appear MUCH less sharp, in fact, a bit blurry, with or without flash, compared to the Sony.  I am making sure to hold the camera still and my subject isn't moving.  I'm confused because on dpreview, it seems most people prefer the Canon and I'd really love to prefer it as well since it's $100 cheaper than the Sony.  Am I doing something wrong?  Anybody else have this problem?   I just got both cameras today so I haven't tested extensively or...
