I never used Pentax K01 for video. For HD video I use my old Sony HX1. I have couple of manual Pentax lens, also automatic and zoom lens. I have tested K01 for video but found it complicated to shoot video with all these settings: exposure setting; framerate....etc Also this operational sound which is present in video I do not like at all. Please share your video setting experiance in good light and lets say in low light. What settings gives you the best image and sound quality without extra...

I have been experimenting with my HX100 settings to get the best out of it. My 16 MP images in general looks pretty nice , however pixel peeping shows some smudging. I think reducing to 10MP improved. Any one has related experience ? Please share you thoughts. I also think reducing to 10MP and using digital zoom ( precision ) gets good quality images but cropping may not be an option. Thanks, VadiV --http://backyardpakshi.blogspot.com/http://www.flickr.com/photos/vadkal

About 2 months ago I popped for a D7100 body. Now to buy a lens to go w/it. I was waiting to see if the price on the 80-400 f/4.5-5.6G ED VR AF-S would decrease around the holidays but no such luck, so it's time to pony up so this DSLR newbie can get plenty of practice before embarking on a late May safari to India. In the meantime, I've been tempted by the 70-200 f/2.8G ED VRII AF-S but am concerned over not having enough reach. I am not an ardent birder but love the challenge of shooting...

Sony HX200v owners - can you help please! I have recently bought a Sony HX200v (with the 1.01 firmware installed) but I'm getting very blurry images. I've tried altering the Sharpness, Noise Control, and Saturation controls - to no effect whatsoever. I've even reset the camera back to its original factory settings - again to no avail. I just don't know what to do next and am beginning to think I've bought a "lemon!" I have a Sony HX1 which produces much, much sharper images (although it does...

Hi Everyone I recently bought a HX300 and enjoy taking pics with it. I saw some of the people using the HX100 and HX200 have Kiwifoto tubes with tele extenders and macro lenses. I saw there is a tube available for the HX300 and was wondering what brand of tele extenders and macro lenses people are using. Can the people with experience in bird photos like Aisse please help.

I have just replaced my (hated) Sony HX1 with the Panasonic Lumix. I haven't taken one photo yet and already I like it much better.   I travel a lot to foreign places and use the camera almost exclusively on these trips for photos, both to share with friends and for the memories. This means a lot of different subjects and conditions, dimly lit churches, museums, mountain and desert scenery, wildlife when I'm lucky, candid shots of people, and so on.  I have some Quantaray filters from my 35mm...

Considering the Sony compact line (for my newly discovered love for portable video!), I did some reading, foundthe HX10 and HX20 interesting, given my budget, but it seems they have been superseded (I hate when that happens!)? What are the current equivalent models, hopefully under 280 dollars street price?

Hi - I'm in the market for a new super zoom and until now have been using sony cybershot HX100 which I just recently sold ... so  am seriously thinking of the Pany FZ200 because of its fast lens  - could do with the extra zoom though ...so am "reluctantly" still  considering the just released sony HX300 (50X)  - its lens is faster than new Canon 50 zoom, but am rather p* off  Sony changed batteries etc so my additional spare is of no use and the 58mm lens filters I bought (they needed an...

Hello,I have been looking into the Sony HX10v. And have found it to have very mixed reviews from people.I have a £230 price range, and from looking this seems to be my best bet.I have an old Sony DSC H7 bridge camera, which I find a little too bulky these days, so I'm opting for a smallish compact camera instead. Is it a good upgrade from my existing?I like the hx10 for its zoom especially, which I'm looking for. It's more compact, and seems to offer a much better quality of picture?Am I...

after a year and a half of using Sony HX100v superzoom p&s I fianlly made up my mind moving from Just got an A77 from the used market as well as some lenses for it. However, after getting a few lenses I found my budget a bit tight when I was considering an 70-200 f2.8 lens. I could get an used Sony 70-200G for around 1400 USD equivalent here but that would suck up all my budget left while I still need to get a few lens say an ultrawide angle zoom. So I'm considering some cheaper tamron/sigma...
