Best compact I have ever owned. EVF with live histogram that was ahead of its time. Handled great and IQ simply awesome for its class. Most of my favorite 8.5"x11" photos were shot with this. ISO 80-200 clean, ISO 400 useable. Very under rated camera.

Excellent image quality out of the box! Better if you make some adjustments on the image parameters (to taste). The best of the "H" series by Sony..hands down! Problems: Must use high capacity (2650 mAhr or better) NiMh rechargeables, or you will be switching batteries quite often!

great, high quality low ISO photos. Problems: Ive been burned again by its slow focusing at close distances. I liked this camera for concerts because of its great low ISO performance. But 2 years in a row i finally get near front-row seats and when the performer shows right up in front of you for 7-10 seconds, all of my pictures are blurry (even though he was well-lit.) yes, when he stands at the mic stand 20 feet away, my pictures are awesome.

Bought this SONY a year ago. Great camera! Produces sharp pictures thanks to the zoom designed by Carl Zeiss, known since generations for the quality optics the firm produces. A shame that a couple of ill-designed or missing features throw a shade on the camera’s record of excellence: - LCD rather too coarse and its colors too brownish or yellowish. This coarse image causes loss of the finer details when viewing the screen. - Colors of the pictures often come out too warm or brownish, ...

I’ve bought this camera year & a half ago. I’m really happy with the results of this camera; I got all the accessories for it, the entire lens set. It’s the only professional camera that I have, I’m not thinking to change it to H5, H7, or even H9... I will wait for H20 to be out then maybe i will do the transfer... I know this is everyone's personal opinion, but for me I can’t be more satisfied with any other camera for my level of professionalism. Problems: 1- Slow shutter speed, but nothing ...

Please note that all ratings values are given with respect to the camera's class, you can't very well compare a compact camera to a DSLR. I picked this camera carefully, depending mostly on the reviews here on Dpreview for guidance. I have to mention I bought it a year ago and that electronics is somewhat more expensive where I live, back then it cost me the equivalent of 400 dollars. I wasn't ready to pay much more than that, I'm not pro enough to make use of a DSLR anyway. So, I was keen on ...

ws great. The biggest negative is once you buy now and compare to newer cameras you see its slightly darker then newer cameras photos and more noise. My ratings is based on the ability to try the camera in person. Without that I would not trust any persons opinion totally because some cameras stopped focussing. A camera can have great things going for it but without you getting a good example its meaningless. I would never buy a used one from ebay I worked hard to find this so called 4.60 ...

I purchased this camera about a year ago as a backup to my DSLR, mostly for outdoor photography when I don’t want to drag along a lot of bulky equipment. I have to say, I’ve been presently surprised by the results this camera has given me. The photo quality is excellent for a P&S, especially one with such a long zoom range. On the default settings, the pictures were over saturated for my taste, but the in-camera adjustments made it possible to get realistic colors. Noise is controlled well ...

Great value for money. The H2 is a very capable camera in it's class. It's on par with the Canon S3 IS, but less expensive, slightly better image quality, and uses only 2 NiMh's, instead of the S3's 4. And they come within the package. Very clean images up to ISO400, that's what I like. Even @ ISO800, you can take good looking photos, it's really amazing what today's little sensors are capable of. I'm a happy H2 user for about 7 months now. Yeah! Highly Recommended. Problems: It's a little ...
