This is my first digital camera that I bought 3 months ago. My first camera was an SLR, Nikon F55D, bought 2 years ago when I was about to go travelling. All along, my opinion is that the picture quality of a film camera is unsurpassed. Until now, I still think so. But, the convenience which a digital camera possesses persuaded me to buy one. The 1st thing that I was looking for in a digital camera was the number of mega pixels it has, which I set at 5. Secondly, I wanted a camera which ...

I had owned this camera 1 year. This is my first digital camera, thus my comment is not influenced by other cameras. I love this camera. It has accompanied me to many places and does not fail me. The battery life is superb. The construction is wonderful and easy to use. Auto focus is fast even in low light condition. Start up time is fast Problems: - colour reproduction is not good - Smallest aperture of F/8 is still big at times - The picture shown on LCD is brigher than that on the monitor ...

I have owned the camera for 1 1/2 years and have taken many pictures with it. It is very versatile. Problems: After about 10,000 pictures, I began to have memory stick errors. I determined that the contacts inside the camera began to fail. I surmise that Sony failed to anticipate that digital camera users take far more pictures than do film camera users. I complained to Sony and they said that the camera was not intended for commericail use. Even though the camera was under warranty, the ...

I got this camera about a week ago, and I have to say this is the best digital camera I have ever had. On top of that this camera was practically a steal for the price I got it for; check out these close up pics of the camera I found. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=470345&Sku=S08-3076%20P&CatId=128

Have had 717 for nearly two years. Photo quality is very good. But do not like it any more since I have tried my friend's 828 and bought a Nikon D70. No matter how good the photo quality is, it is useless if you miss the subject . The 717 is very slow. If shooting children, you are very likely to see their back in the photo. If you mainly shoot children or animal, buy 828 or D70 . They response much much much faster than 717. If you mainly shoot still subject, 717 will do its' job and give ...

I bought an F717 last saturday and took some pics with it. I feel that it's perfect in a sunny day or outdoor , so colorful it's and the pics are serious sharp. But the pics indoor , it seems to be not so powerful and somewhat blur , I can say , an A70 of canon can easily beat it . I wonder why my camera works like that . If I can modify some setting to improve the image quality indoor or in low light ? As a beginner of DC.

This is my fourth digital camera and after having read glowing reviews here and elsewhere I was expecting an epiphany. What I got was a fine overall camera but one that failed to WOW me the way it has others. It's a good 3.5 star camera out of the box, but you will need to invest an additional $150-plus or so to make it a 4 Star performer. For starters you'll need a larger memory card and an external flash that you can bounce off the ceiling (try Sunpak 383). You'll also need far better ...

Great camera that I use for over a year now. Thousands of pics taken, with ease and not much correction afterwards. Recommended Problems: Fragile body, program freezes sometimes (started after almost a year of constant use, on/off etc.), fragile tilting mechanizm (screws tend to get loosen from time to time)
