What a gem of a camera! Well over 4000 photos taken and still going strong. Solid construction. Excellent quality lens/zoom which produces fabulous wild life pics. A bit of a learning curb at first but once you familiarize yourself with the features you are on your way. White balance could be better - that's the only slight downside. My battery finally failed this past week end but the DSLR A100 i bought a year ago uses the same one! So,i continue to use the 'antique' while the A100 waits ...

Here I am, 2008 and trying to decide on a DSLR after 7 years with my 707. I started looking at other cameras after maybe the third year figuring that advances in technology would make an "upgrade" timely...but really, there really hasn't been a good enough reason to "upgrade" - the 707 is a classic and still either equals or beats most of the new digital cams.

E' una macchina concepita per fotoamatori evoluti. Ben costruita, in ottima lega di magnesio, con tutti i comandi al posto giusto. Messa a fuoco anche manuale e corpo ruotante intorno all'eccezionale obiettivo Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar 5x e luminoso (f/2!). L'ottica è pregevole e regala soddisfazioni enormi. Il sensore è più grande di quello delle altre prosumer, e questo è un altro decisivo punto a favore. Cinque mpx sono appena sufficienti, ma non deludono. Il prezzo di acquisto nel mercato ...

On this, the fifth anniversary of the day I bought myself a Sony DSC F707, what happiness to see it still getting the occasional good write-up. To how many other digital cameras I wonder is that still happening, five years after their first appearance? I have arthritis, and because shouldering a kilogramme of the Sony 707 with its almost as heavy accessories was beginning to seem burdensome, I recently made an ill-starred attempt to substitute the Sony T5 mini-compact which weighs about a ...

My first digital camera - I loved it. Popped a baggie over the lens to just break the surface and get that underwater shot. Baggie leaked (?!!). $240 of Authorized Sony Service later the images were still glairy. I then bought a F717 - I love it. 2 years later I bought a 'for parts' F707 on eBay. It had already been pillaged but it gave me enough courage/experience to attempt repair of my first F707 . . a deep dive all the way down to the back lens of the telescoping element set. . . ...

Excellent value for the money - paid $150 for a used model sixteen months ago. I purchased it from the graphics department of my company (who upgraded to an 828), so I know what sort of grief it has had to put up with; it's held up amazingly well. With a HVL-F1000 flash in bounce mode, I can snap amazing photos without even trying anywhere that's got a ceiling under twenty feet. Used in tandem with my U30 I can load up on memory sticks and never miss a shot - startup on the F707 is a bit ...

Excellent battery life and lens and image quality is excellent as well. But at the time I purchased the camera it was rather expensive and compared to today's camera not a good value anymore. But I still keep it around for those grab shots that happen while driving the freeways and city streets, since it is immune to heat and time, compared to film cameras. The auto white balance has not failed me yet. The only serious draw back is the exclusive use of the Sony memory sticks, they are the ...

I am a Brazilian photographer. I work with a F707 (with flash HVL-F1000), there are 3 years, and now I acquired a F828 (with flash HVL-F32X). My F707 are third Sony, and my F828 it is fourth, therefore. They are excellent cameras, very simple of operating, and healthy very robust. The infra-red system is excellent for night photos, especially, when it is photographed people's gatherings. Its AF is wonderful! I like a lot to work with them, and my customers like the results a lot. Problems: Th ...

A great camera. Only for a serious amateur. Try to find a good one second hand, you want regret it. Wish I had waited for the close out for the next model, because I saw the next generation for half what I paid for my camera. Almost two years and 2000 pictures. Excellent value.
