The camera is perfect in usage, quality and it is easy to carry with you. I'm having it for like a month and I simply love it. Problems: Having no optical zoom is an inconvenience, and the software that comes with this camera is really poor. The delay from when you push the button until the image is taken is a long time.

I have used a variety of digital cameras, and have found the F55 to be the most versatile compact camera on the market. The swivel head and its size ensures that you can get away with taking pictures without the subject being overly aware of whats going on. The LCD zoom works wonders although I would appreciate a better digital magnification. Currently I can sit at the back of a conference hall and zoom into and snap presentation diagrams with enough resolution to transcribe them later. Problems:

Very easy to use. Very compact (my primary concern). Excellent battery life (if you turn it off when not in use). Avoid images containing both Sun-lit and Shadow areas. Camera doesn't handle the combo very well and images will have to be retouched. Otherwise pictures are GREAT! Camera compensates very well moving from Sun to Shade. Colors are very good (with proper illumination). I'm pleased with how it handles Action Schots. An original image blows up to 8x10 (even a bit over) with photo ...

WOW! This is how digital cameras should be. Despite the lack of optical zoom, this is one of the best digital cameras I have owned. My other digital camera is a DSC-D700. I wanted a tiny pocket sized digicam for the times that I did not want to carry the D700 around. Image quality and color is amazing. The Zeiss optics is far superior over the optics in the Nikon 950, or Olympus 2000. There is NO purple fringing, or barrel distortion. This is a real pocket sized winner! Problems: Lack ...

Really pocketable and with great optics and 2 megapixel resolution. This is what I pickup if I'm travelling light. The reflective LCD is perfectly visible in the sun and is brighter than the backlit mode. There is no need for a viewfinder at all and I don't miss it. Great picture quality. MPEG movies are short but just about right to capture the mood. All auto settings which work fine. Macro mode is acceptable but limited to 4" minimum distance. Memorysticks are no problem. They are light and ...

This is nearly my perfect camera. I've owned 6 different digital cameras and this one is my favorite. You have to ask yourself what are you going to use a camera for. If you are a professional photographer then get one of the camera recommended here like the Coolpix 950 or the Sony DSC-505K or the Olympus C2500. If you are NOT a professional, like me, and you just want to take pictures for fun then you need a camera that you will use. What I mean by that is for example I own a Coolpix 900. ...
