I bought mine second-hand. It's the most perfect camera for my needs: I need quick shots that can be put on the web quickly. The selection switch on the side is flimsy. Mine doesn't allways make good contact. A friend of mine has the same problem. Biggest problem is the flash. Pictures taken with the flash are most of the time overbright. There is no slave-output to use a more sophisticated flash. I have tried to cover the flash with bits of sellotape to dim the light with moderate success. ...

I use medium format and this little Sony enables me to use it as I would have used a polaroid in the past, ie, to snap potential shots that warrant a visit with the proper equipment! Polaroid was messy, but this is fantastic, it fits in any pocket and is ready in an instant. There is a way to go before a good priced digital camera is launched that matches the larger negative formats for quality. Problems: The software, but with plenty of pc power it is ok. £30 for a usb card reader is ...

I miss not having a view finder and Zoom lens. The battery life on the info litium system stinks and after a while the batter reads 60 mins when charged then shuts off at 35 minutes. You have to re start the camera and pray it works. I have had 3 Infolithium S batteries and two friends also have the same problems with their batteries. On the good side, the picture quality is awesome, the lens is superb. The camera is very compact and the movie mode is cool. It feels like it was carved ...

The quality given by the Carl Zeiss lens is absolutely fantastic giving surprisingly good results. Battery tends to die after 45 mins, but overall an excellent little unit.

I bought this as my first digital camera in June, 1998. I still use it every day because it is simple, reliable, and it produces great pictures. I paid a hefty price as the model was new, but I've gotton full value from the purchase. I like the fact that this camer has a fixed lens. I think the lens is sharper than most zoom lenses. Also, you never lose a picture because of fussing around with the zoom. This Sony is truly a "point-and-shoot" camera. The email file format is a great idea ...

I've just had this a short time. Bought it on the spur of the moment for my birthday.. I've been looking at others since I still have time to return it. The fact is I've grown to like it so much I don't think I could part with it now. The photo quality is great. It's small enough to carry around in my pocket. It has fun features like the Mpeg recording. It looks cute. It makes cute noises. An optical zoom would be nice. Also a slow shutter speed for low light. And USB capabilty. But no ...
