At the time I bought this cam, it was defenitely the best for it's time. It has earned it money. Nice Quality pictures, and great controll and zoomlens! Problems: Bad performance in dark conditions, a lot of noise with 8sec shuttertime

I've been using this camera as an amateur for a few months now and I love the feel and look of it. The image quality is excellent and my shots are at least tecnically much better now that I've swithched to a Digital system. My only gripe is that the camera peforms poorly in low light conditions - autofocus doesn't seem to work so well and as it gets darker, framing shots becomes a matter of pure guesswork. Having said that - I knew of these limitations before I parted with my cash (I loved ...

I love the unique design of this camera with it's rotating LCD screen. As someone else mentioned, it's nice because it's not obvious to others that you are taking a picture when you hold it. Why? Because you don't have to hold the camera up to your face. The quality of the photos I have taken are amazing thanks to the special Carl lenses. The color is vivid and the photos are quite clear and sharp. Even the 8 X10 I have printed look good. The biggest complaint is the lag time between when ...

Takes very fine pics for an amateur 2.6Mpx, but trying to pass as a pro 3.3 this dc fails. The big zoom is a great advantage. this camera is not for vacation/holiday use because of it's size, yet it is not for proffessional use because of it's lack of manual control and no remote control or short self-timer. If you want a pro digital camera and insist on Sony, I'd go with the F707. If you want a pocket one from Sony, to take everyday shots, go for the P5/P1. Problems: Barrel distortion to the ...

I've had this camera for about a year and it works great!!! The pictures works great I"ve even had some 640x480 pics enlarged to 8x10 with great results on kodak paper... The time lapse and the night modes worked great on outdoor night events (i.e. fireworks, got some good shots with that) There is a trick to cleaning that LCD , no specialized equipment needed, just some good old fashioned.... SCOTCH TAPE!! works wonders!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Problems: Indoor low light situations tend to make the ...

This camer a great. It was easy to use and the features were great. The image quality was a lot better than I expected and the construction was also great. When I loaded the images onto my computer they weren't blury or anything, but it was tough to loaded it onto my computer. It is light to carry around if you're on a vacation. The price a first was a little high, but when you use it, then you will then know why it is that price. The only bad thing was that it was short of memory. Problems:

I bought this camera on Sept/12/2000 and have taken over 2500 pics so far. Some of the colours are off at times and must be corrected with photo editor. I just recently purchased 2X128MB memory sticks in possible anticipation of eventually buying the F707. The Canon G2 pictures are really impressing me at this time compared to the F707 so I will be holding off on a new purchase, even the new Nikon 5000 looks promising. Overall, the F505v has been a joy to have except for the frustrations ...
