This is the camera that started it all for me. I've had other cameras before it (analog) and tried a couple of digital cameras (poor resolution and lens quality) until I got this camera as a graduation gift back in 2000. Unlike the other digital cameras I used, this one had a lens that actually attributed to the quality instead of just being dead weight. That's thanks to it being designed by Carl Zeiss. This won't be a big review as it's been covered by several reviews plus the very ...

Used many digi-cams, bought this cuz I caught a bargain and the review also kinda persuaded me to buy it as it has got 10/10 for image quality and Lens/CCD combination. Its a good camera, lens is ultra fast, awesome LCD, nice/vivid pics check my gallery for pics http://www.pbase.com/mehmood/my_sony_f505v_shots Problems: No control over ISO settings, limited control over aperture/shutter mode, battery life is average as compared to other Sony digi-cams, no multi-segment metering (only spot and ...

F505V is the second digital camera of my dozen. Once I dropped it heavily on the rocks of Huang Shan ( a scenic mountain in China). My friends saw it worked perfectly without a sight of damage. They were crazy about it and urged me to sell it out in a good price. Though it's out-dated because of slow in starting up, I still treasure it!

Excellent image quality and colour reproduction. Sony's menu system is easy to use and contains many good, useful features. Swivel lens lets you take some great low shots or otherwise impossible shots and will show itself next time you want to take shots round corners or under bridges or the like. LCD display always clear and good quality, but can be too dark in some conditions (very bright sunlight or in dark restaurants but brightness can be adjusted). Zoom lens very useful at times. ...

I really like my F505V. The more light the better, as with just about any digital camera. The rotating body is an innovation that makes it so much easier to handle, and more ergonomically sound as well. It couldn't be easier to use. The menus are straightforward and well mapped. Sony has done a great job there. I like the feel of this camera in my hand, and everything is easy to find. The lens is probably the best fature. You can't beat Zeiss for quality, and this translates ...

This was the second digital camera I purchased - Excellent piece of equipment, took great pictures in a variety of situations. Shoot lag was irritating after becoming use to 5fps 35mm cameras. Remained a wonderful camera till I shot my first 9750 frames then it died. Like losing a wonderful and faithful pet. Problems: It is now an expensive to repair unit that will wait till June for its mercy dash to betterment.

excellent picture quality with the lens, easy to access, fast zoom and good battery performance, I got it for $660 with 32M MS complimentary, really great offer! Problems: it will be better if Aperture can be largermeg.F2.0, weak built-in flash, low speed in focusing.
