My entry to digital photography and served me well for several years. Bulky design was inconvenient but was still fairly light and easy to operate. Low resolution and digital zoom created some very small files that dissapointed me later when trying to use photos for print. This was not a fault of the camera but my own learning curve showing a long way to go. The camera operated flawlessly and still does if for some reason I chose to use it with it's limited res issues. Problems: Big, low ...

I bought mine back in March '02, and it has been a GREAT camera. Yes, it's old & slow like me... But I have taken several thousand photos with it. The 10x optical zoom gives me outstanding full frame shots of flowers & butterflies. And the "Steady Shot" works really well. You can get 50 3" CD-R's for under $20. And each one will hold over 200 jpgs at the highest resolution. Once uploaded, then the CD becomes your back-up copy! Problems: After four years, I now want something that can ...

I have owned my cd1000 for 18months and shot over 2000 pictures. Most shots are Aerial photography I take while I fly my plane. This Camera allowes me to zoom crop and shoot one handedwhile flying. The optical stabalizer has kept my shots steady and crisp. I LOVE THIS CAMERA. I regularly print 8x10 and 11x17, and even 24x36. I am shopping for a 5megapixel. I WISH SONY WOULD TAKE THIS SAME CD1OOO AND MAKE IT 5MEGAPIXEL Problems: No problems at all

This Mavica cd100 has been a super good camera. I've taken approx 1600 pics in the last 2 years and I'm in love with it. I found only two drawbacks. 1. It's NO GOOD for action shots......peroid (Too long of a delay after depressing shutter release) 2. The internal flash is worthless. (about as bright as a pen lite flashlight!!!!)..Note I have found a super way to get around this problem... I've made a "W" shaped platform that is attached to the camera via the tripod socket. At the forward ...

I bought the camera as my first digital and for the amateur it offers PLENTY of features from spot metering and EV adjustments to White Balance and aperture /shutter control. The 10x optical zoom lends to a lot of shooting flexibility without having to change lenses. This feature also assures that no dust will EVER reach the sensor while still having large zoom capabilities. In addition, Sony makes add-on conversion lenses for the filter threads of this camera which take the already large ...

What many consider as a drawback I personally find one of the biggests adventiges of this Camera - Disk space - You can shoot without thinking - If You are the guy carrying always 3 or 4 rolls of film to your camera for each session - this is the digital solution exacly for you. The colours are nice Sometimes even a bit too nice maybe The ability of making sepia or B&W fotos is very cool also. Generally the most decent digital camera I've been using Problems: I think I screwed the batteries ...

I love this camera, the ability to take literally 100 plus pictures with minimized compression on 1 CD at full resolution is amazing. Trying the different features on the same image helps to discover the budding photgrapher and what the camera can do. The zooming ability and crispness of the pictures can turn you into a great photographer. I have had 2 photos published with this camera and my friends and family love the quality of pictures taken so far. If you have the opportunity to find ...

I sold my cd1000 on ebay a few months back so that I could purchase a new f707. Wish I hadn't made that mistake. The cd1000 took great photos in auto mode. The f707's pictures in auto mode are underexposed and lacking in color depth. If you own a cd1000 and are thinking of going for the f707, don't do it. Memory sticks suck, too. The cd's are where it's at. About the only think that's negative for the cd1000 is its inability to shoot action shots and it's large body.
