I recently brought my DP3M along with me for a tripod-based night-time shoot, but processing the files is more troublesome than I imagined.Any pointers on how to work them to make the best of Low-light-Low-Iso shots from a Merril-Sensor?Have a great day everyone --https://www.flickr.com/photos/130423558@N04/Critique is always welcome.
I bought a DP2 Merrill last week. I've always been intrigued by this camera since it was launched, but couldn't justify full price given the drawbacks of the camera. However, given the low price of the DP2M now, curiosity got the better of me and I bought one. Wow! I'm still learning this camera, but the more I use it, the more I like it. I'd now like to get a DP3M, and possibly a DP1M as well. Does anybody know of any camera stores that still has new stock of these? UK or EU to avoid...
DP3Merrill - Strange Noise Reduction Effect in SPP 6.3 New shooter of DP2/3m here. Very happy so far with both cameras - have had the usual pains with the sigma RAW software, but am adjusting to it's workflow. I noticed a strange issue recently however - I've shot some aerial pics with high detail at infinity focus and relatively low contrast. When I first open the images (both RAW and JPEG) - in SPP, the image appears with maximum detail, until the green "render-bar" in the upper right...

Browsing Flickr for several years has shown me that Foveon sensors provide the best possible IQ without ponying up the price for digital MF, and I think that having the flexibility of close focus and portrait capability makes the dp3 most appealing if I'm just going to use one FL. All that being said, one of the great capabilities of my Canon 5D2 is the EOS Utility software. It allows for tethered shooting (control of camera settings and shutter activation via...
I've had a DP3 Merrill for a time now but I really can't get along without a wider focal length. The DP3 Merrill is the only camera I have - a great camera for what it does. But for my type of photography it's like trying to walk with one leg. Anyway, I would like to buy a DP1 Merrill as I have about $500 extra cash to spend. I'd like the DP0 Quatro but that's too expensive right now and the DP1 Merrill is a more all around focal length which would give me a wide angle option. Anyone know...
