A few months ago, I bought a used DP2 and have been very pleased with my results- photos shared on screen with Flickr, and also prints on 8.5 x 11" paper with print area about 6 x 9. I mean very pleased! A few weeks ago, I bought a used DP2M and am now considering going back to the DP2.  It seems to me, and here is my question, that the main advantage of the Merrill version is the larger pixel size, with the opportunity for cropping.  The handling is somewhat improved, but I really learned to...

I'm coming from a Ricoh GR and Oly EM5. I am used to adding sharpening. My first impression with my DP2 is that any addition is too much. Is that the feeling of those with more experience of the DPx range? Tony

Sorry to have wasted everyone's time on the wrong thread. It is the DP3 Merrill that I want to convert using Qimage. According to this list the DP1 and DP2 will work with DCRaw that is used within Qimage. http://www.cybercom.net/~dcoffin/dcraw/ If there was a DP3 Merrill raw file that I could download from the Sigma site I could test it myself. I am amazed of the quality I can get out of my recently acquired DP2M and DP3M and am considering springing for one of the SD1 with 17-50mm f:2.8 combos which is so very reasonably priced here in Euroland at the moment instead of adding a DP1M. Unfortunately there does not seem to be anywhere to try them out here in Brussels. Due to shaky hands I have decided not to use the DPxMs handheld but only on a tripod. So I am a bit concerned about my ability to use the SD1 handheld. 1) Has anybody...

I am looking for a camera case/pouch that can hold of my DP1M and DP2M and allows easy and fast access to both of them (should only hold cameras, no accessories). Does someone have any recommendations? Alternatively, any small good padded pouch for each of them will do as well (should only hold camera, no accessories). --Best regards,Hardy==================Join the Sigma DP Macro Group on:http://www.flickr.com/groups/sigma_dp_macro/My pictures on:On Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/diddy

Hi All, Its been a good while since I last posted in the Sigma forum, I currently have a DP1x which I still enjoy using for wide-angle. I recently went over to Pentax with a K-7 and FA 43mm lens (and a FA 20-35mm now sold). An example of my favourite shots of from that combo: http://www.flickr.com/photos/hoopsontoast/sets/72157634134478729/ I have been thinking about moving back to Sigma for two main reasons: -I really like the body size/handing of the DP1x, I found I did not get on with...

Hi In some cases when I am composing a shot, The sensitivity of the camera increases in order to brighten the view of what the camera is seeing just for the purpose of viewing the scene in the LCD. The scene becomes too bright (washed out, etc.). This makes it difficult for me to compose the shot. My current workaround is to point the camera somewhere else (that is brighter) in order to reduce camera sensitivity, click the shutter button halfway (this locks the sensitivity), point the camera...

Unfortunately my DP1 started suffering from the stuck lens/rattling noise syndrom just a few days before my holidays in Vietnam. At least I have my DP2 as a backup. Does anyone happen to know if there a shops in Hanoi that might fix the DP1?

I'm really really tempted to purchase the DP2M for the past few weeks and have been putting it off because of the price and how long it's been out. Please forgive me if it's obvious and mentioned somewhere but from some decent googling and looking at past Sigma Foveon related release dates I'm unable to make a decision. Simple question, should I buy a DP2M today? I do not NEED one, and I do not mind waiting for 3-4 months, but I'd rather be out there shooting. Are we just around the corner of...
