I think this camera is seriously underrated and, perhaps not surprisingly, Samsung is to blame: they priced it too high right from the beginning. On paper it's competitive with other top-end mirrorless cameras of the same vintage (Sony NEX-7, Olympus OM-D E-M5). However, it has a couple of pretty significant downsides. The biggest asset of this cameras is its sensor. I like it more than the critically acclaimed Sony 16MP sensor: it has the same very wide dynamic range, but is much less prone ...

Positives: + The camera feels very good in hand and the controls (buttons and wheels) are pretty well placed. It's possible to shoot one-handed without problem with the kit zoom and definitely with pancakes. + The mechanical quality of the camera is good. The camera is easy and logical to use. On the same level with Sony NEX-7. + The EVF is of very good quality + LCD is also very good (bright, good contrast) and it's got enough image area for the photos (unlike Sony NEX cameras or Olympus ...

An update to my previous review. I'd just like to add that I've been able to take some nice night shots with this camera, including some very nice night shots with a Minolta 50mm f1.4 manual lens. Pictures with the Samsung 30mm f2, although a nice super sharp lens, seem to be a bit more difficult at night than I expected, in comparison to my vintage lens. I like the ergonomics, although not perfect: the handle could be deeper so that the strap attach point doesn't push into your index ...

It's a very nice camera - great viewfinder, good pivot screen (although I prefer Sony's new implementation where it's a tilt with the pivot at the top-center, so it doesn't swing out sideways). The whole ensemble has a feel of solid quality to it. The body is of magnesium alloy, the buttons aren't loose, you get nice tactile feedback as the dials snap into place for each setting - even the rotator menu wheel is nice like this. And I love the ergonomics, especially compared to the NX1000 which ...

I got this camera for testing it for some days. It performs pretty disappointing and there are other things I don´t like. Stills quality: Looks undersaturated, can be corrected a bit in the menue, then colours are ok. Sharpness is not that impressive, images seem to soft and muddy, at least when shooting JPEG. RAW performance is a bit better but not that much. The camera comes supplied with Phase One Capture One 6 but this can´t do magic. High ISO performance is pretty mediocre for this ...
