I've had this NX10 for a few months now and I am very satisfied, and surprised by its capabilities. Before having it I was using standard DSLRs such as 550Ds and 40Ds. Initially the NX10 was a camera without much of a raison d'etre, costing as much as the average low-mid end DSLR, however, now it seems that this camera (and its NX100) counterpart cost as much as comapcts, but offer DSLR performance. This is just one of the advantages of the NX system. The camera itself is small but doesn't ...

Picture Quality: Terrific frankly, nice clean shots up to ISO800 suitable for your big enlargements, a little bit noisier at 1600 but still fine for 8x10s or more, 3200 maybe for emergencies only - there's a NR function you can switch on that kicks in at 3200, but if you want to get technical best thing apparantly is to shoot in RAW at 1600 and above and process to your own NR taste rather than relying on the jpeg output. I'm referencing the 18-55mm kit lens - If you use the bright & fast ...

Among other competing models in the same price range : GF-1 , Olympus EPL-1 and NEX5 , I settled for the NX10 mainly for the fact that it has all the good parts of those 3 cameras , SLR style controls and interface and design, Fast AF speed, Large Sensor (APS-C Cmos) and to add that the NX10 also had a good EVF and AMOLED screen. Picture quality is also marvelous. Very similar to what I get from Nikons (at least that's what I feel) Controls and handling is a breeze without the need to ever ...

An excellent little camera. Image quality is on par with the offerings from Nikon or Canon. High ISO noise is more than acceptable. Control layout is logical and well thought out. Menu structure is logical. The 30mm pancake lens is excellent. The 18-55mm lens and 50-200mm lenses are just as good as what the competition offers with their kits. It's small, lightweight, and makes a perfect travel camera. Samsung did nice job designing this camera. Problems: Auto-focus is barely fast ...

I've been using since the beginning of February. With each day the more I appreciate this camera. Waiting for a wider choice of lenses, since the two that I have me a little limited.

To the lenses: very useful 30mm lens, very good OIS of the 50-200mm - problems with sunrise (sunset) - orange with red circle , very "average" set zoom. Problems: I cannot accept the very long times of the shutter adjusted by automatic control. The bad firmware injured too many shots particularly in worse light conditions. I will sell this camera.

Don't look at therating because I haven't tried it. But judging the sample pictures it isn't much at all. I'm glad you mention Schneider lenses. But still worry if the sensor and the software using the same standards as the other more famous brands. I do wish to use this body with Nikon lenses and see what the results are.

Moved to this camera as wanted something simpler and lighter than my full-blown Pentax K20D kit. So far it's just great. 30mm pancake is sharp, fast and takes up little space and the whole camera is light and easy to control. Menus work well. Screen not quitre as good as I expected but still better than most. IQ - rich ( but not too much!) colours and good exposure. Very sharp and focus locks quickly. It's a camera that encourages you to use it. Can't wait for promised Schneider Kreusznach primes!

Everything said by the other mini-reviews here is true. The cam with the pancake is small enough to fit into large pockets and this combo takes beautiful pictures. The 30mm has a very nice, smooth bokeh, resulting in pretty professional looking photos. Problems: Two minor things: First, zooming all the way into a picture reveals sometimes a tad of softness. I think, this is more Samsungs philosophy, not to introduce artifacts through sharpening. A little post-processing, however, solves this ...

I have had DSLR's for many years and I sold my DSLR kit on getting this camera. It will not be a DSLR replacement for everyone, but it was for me, with the lightness of the kit making up for any compromises that I have made in moving away from the DSLR. These are my main feature observations. 1) Good ergonomic shape, retains a DSLR feels, so is comfortable to use in my big hands. 2) Lighter and more portable than by previous heavy 'bag of lenses' situation. 3) Built in flash is a decent ...
