I have only begun playing with my Samsung GX10 after using a variety of simpler digital cameras for 8 yrs. I bought this Pentax clone in order to use my collection of lenses from my 20yr old Pentax ME Super 35mm camera. - 20 mm and 50 mm Pentax lenses and 28 mm and 70-200 mm Image brand lenses. Problems: The Pentax brand lenses used to work (using manual focus etc.), but after trying to make my other K mount lenses work, now none of them do, and I just get a flashing "f" on the LCD screen ...

after extended use of various point-and-shoots and slr-like digital cameras (panasonics and sonys, most notably) i decided it was time to upgrade to my first DSLR. I decided on a mid-range camera and had a budget of around $800 (tax refund!) and looked at the typical choices: canon digital rebel, nikon d40 & nikon d40x, sony alpha 100 and the olympus e-volt. After much research and lots of combing through the forums here, I decided to on the Pentax K10D ... with one hitch, I couldn't find ...

Great camera for it's price range. Bought it for $699 USD for the kit. Much better than the Sony A-100, Canon Rebel XTi and Nikon D40x. In my opinion, its built better and all around is a much more solid camera. I bought this over it's Pentax K10D twin because its the same camera and costs about $100 USD less.

I have recently purchased this camera. I too was looking at the K10D but saw this one which is a clone of the Pentax and it was on special with $250.00 cheaper than the pentax K10D. To me it was a no brainer and i can use my existing lenses. But i did buy myself the 16-45 F4 DA, 50-200 DA & a nice 50ml 1.4. Iam very pleased with my decision and now i have to learn how to drive it !!! Blair

I was looking for an D200 alternative which wouldn´t cost too much. I wanted a weather-sealed body, good continuos performance and more hardware buttons to switch the settings. What I don´t liked from the D200: - it uses CF-cards(I hate CF and have a lot of good SD cards there) - loud shutter - no lens for Nikon starting with 16-xx So I looked at the Pentax K10D. After some reviews I decided to get one. I had a K100D before but was a bit disappointed because this cam was overall too slow for ...

I have had the GX 10 for over a week now & i can only recommend this excellent camera. Paid £599.00 with twin lens. I checked out the Pentax 10D first but decided to go with the GX 10 as it is exactly the same camera but is much cheaper & comes with an extra 1 year guarantee. Overall image quality & build is exceptional. At thjs price i would definatly recommended over it's rivals such as the D80,A100 & 400D. This is a camera that will last you for years especially as it comes with sensor ...

I checked out the Pentax K10d before buying the Samsung GX10. Finally decided to get the Samsung on the price. For the money I would have paid for a Pentax with one Lens I got the Twin lens kit plus 1 extra year gurantee. The camera is easy to use and produces stunning results. The magazine reviews are correct you do need to tweek the controls to get the best results but that is part of the fun. I have traded up from an Olympus c8080 (great camera) and the extras with the GX10 are worth the ...

I did a lot of reading before buying this camera. I wanted a camera that was going to be compatible with my Pentax AF lens collection. I had initially decided to purchase the new Pentax K10 but at the last minute decided to compare it with the Samsung GX10. Am I glad I did? You bet, I saved over £200. The Samsung is a rebadged Pentax. The specs are almost identical. Compare them if you have any doubts. In short before you buy the Pentax check out the Samsung.

For the price paid (£599 twin lens kit), exceptional DSLR. Clone of Pentax K10D. 10Mpix, weather sealed body, optical image stabilization, large and bright pentaprism viewfinder with 0.95x magnification, dust reduction by anti-static coating and sensor shake, good battery (500-800 shots), 11 point AF, User definable Auto ISO, Large, bright and high resolution LCD monitor, proper hinged doors covering the connectors (not the cheap rubber bungs), etc, etc. Problems: No external battery grip ...
