Samsung Digimax V700

Announced Feb 20, 2005 •
7 megapixels | 2 screen | 38 – 114 mm (3×)
Ian George

Looks great in silver, solid stylish construction, has many features. I'm very pleased with the quailty results. It's easy to use and the size is perfect for someone who finds ultracompacts too small, but still wants to keep size and weight to a mininum. I would recommend it to any amatuer photographer who may need a quality 7 mp camera at a great price. Problems: No problems other than like everything in life it's not perfect. The LCD could be bigger, but not at the expence of the ...

Bought this camera in January mainly because I once owned the Samsung V4 which was fantastic. The V700 however was truly appalling - images were unsharp and the video was very jerky. Basically I only bought it for the video and the fact that this camera was on special offer. Took it back after 1 week and bought a Panasonic FX8 - maybe not the best point and shoot in the world but at least the video is good and has built-in antishake. Problems: None other than the above!!! Currently own a DSLR ...

I purchased this camera in December 2005. It has many features, and takes outstanding photos. The scene mode is extremely useful; this camera takes great shots at night. The V700 has many features, the one that I have come to appreciate is My Set, which I can save frequently used settings. I don't have to go to the menu each time, and reset everything. It's a great camera, and takes crystal clear images. I have had it a couple of months now, and I am delighted with its versatility. ...

Worst product in year 2005. PC magazine voted this camera to be the worst product in year 2005. http:// www .pcmag. com/article2/0,1895,1891472,00. asp Problems: 1. Samsung Digimax V700: Samsung can seemingly do no wrong these days. The company has supplanted Sony as the top electronics brand, exuding both quality and cool. We hope this terrible digital camera is an aberration, not a sign of things to come. With slow performance, lousy auto-exposure, and some shutter lag, this 7.1-megapixel ...

Absolutely amazing camera for the money. I have taken pictures with this camera during the memorial day vacation. I am completely satisfied with this purchase. The camera is small enough and the picture qualities are great as well. Samsung lives upto its reputation with this camera. Problems: Slight delay to take a second shot. Everything else is good.

I have had this camera for a month and have used it heavily. The picture quality is superb, and in my opinion is a much better camera than the reviewer gives it credit for. However if you are considering buying the v700 I would wait for the v800 as they may have sorted out some of the problems mentioned in the review. None of these problems are show stoppers though - and you get a hell of a lot of camera for your money - problems or not. Problems: The video quality is descent **if** you don't ...

Best camera in our office. Other makes were too expensive / complex to get a decent photo results. Our company takes approximately 200 photos per day and V700 delivers exceptional quality photos with consistant performance. Strongly recommended camera. Problems: None.

I have purchased this camera a month ago. At first, I was amazed by the attractive design. This is not the smallest camera, yet it is small enough to fit in my pocket comfortably. The picture quality of the camera is simply outstanding. Samsung has successfully produced a camera that is simple yet powerful & attractive. Problems: Learning one or two new functionality of the camera everyday!
