I've been using this camera for a month. if you think shooting in a cloudy day or low light, forget it.Don't even try. This sucks sunny days it's ok. But on the other hand if you use manual focus you can take better pictures than Canon EOS 300 series Problems: very noisy. hard rotating zoom. very heavy.

Perfect ergonomy except EV button. Excellent compromize for me A Samsung won;'t be as easy to sell as big names, but I think I will keep it..! Problems: CF card not easy to remove. EV selection button too small and meant to be press too firmly to get access to the function. Too much noise over 100 ISO. No wireless access (flash / downloading pictures, etc)

The image quality at the tele end of this camera appears better than FZ30 which is excellent at the middle and lower focal lengths only. Problems: The manufactorer tells lie! The Exif record tells that the max aperature at tele end is "4.92" not as published "4.6" The lens specification, according to the Exif information attached to its pictures are 7.4mm f 2.14 to 104.7mm f 4.92, i.e. 14.15 times (equivalent to 29 to 413mm of a 35mm format camera)

Nice camera, easy of use, feature rich, all necessary buttons easily accessable. But... Too noisy. There will be a new firmware within a few days but will it fix the noisyness? One unacceptable oddity on the design: the inner threads for filters is 59,5 mm? Why not 60, or rather 62? The 72 mm thead is too big since the filters are quite alot more expensive that those of a size 62. Problems: The third wheel (? or what ever it is called) does do nothing usefull on the lens barrell. The date's ...

Sample images on 'other digicams' forum Good specification for money Problems: Auto focussing seems to do a lot of hunting around and I am not yet convinced that the AF is accurate. It could be just the unit I have or it could be typical of this camera. The camera doesn't like focussing in Macro mode. It struggles with most subject matter, regardless of contrast levels. Quite a lot of noise at 400 ISO. Dreadful colour fringing. Using RAW format one needs patience . it seems to take an age to ...

Exelent camera. I have owned it for about a month and wow. I admit I am no expert but this camera is great. The only dislike I have is that they only supplied a 64meg card and you will need more storage space for sure.

Goodness, some of you people must be on drugs. Giving scores to a camera you have not held in your hands? Giving low scores to counter-act these other people? Wild stuff, guys. I actually own the camera, and have owned many other film and digital P&S cameras, SLRs and MF/LF cameras. This camera is what you get when a manufacturer listens, and thinks about what a photographer needs. Easily accessible main functions, turn-the-ring exposure comp, ergonomic exposure and focus lock, manual zoom, ...

This camera is a class act. It's solid and comfortable in my hands. The weight helps stabilise longer zooms and exposure times, thereby largely eliminating any need for IS. The large LCD makes it very easy to set up studio shots. The offset EVF eliminates nose-smudge from the LCD (my right eye is dominant, this may be an issue for southpaws!) Controls are very well laid out and almost intuitive - resorting to the menus is seldom necessary. The top LCD is small but useful for discreet and ...
