i'd own canon v3, a70, s50, fuji s602, f401, sony p1, niklon d70. when rx compare to my past dc (except s602 and d70 since they are not in the near level), the most different is the image quality - poor, but still can accept. also the fast start up time and fast focusing are giving me a big surprise. build quality is good, light but strong enough. it has a wide lens, fast action(pls by-pass the flash) and the price is attractive, so if you don't mind the image quality is on average level, ...

I picked this camera up in Hong Kong on a trip and was pleasantly surprised. I realised it had only 3.2 MP, but the image quality is much better than I expected. 8X10" prints are no problem. You can see an image here http://www.smpsolutions.com//R0010142.JPG It is pocketable, uses AA batteries (so never stuck recharging), is quick to power up and shoot and has a reasonably wide-angle lens. This is the second Ricoh camera I have owned - I recently upgraded from the G3, (which unfortunately got full of sand). Everything they said about this camera is true; the fast start up time is superb, the super fast shutter response (I think it’s even faster than the G3) and the 28-100mm zoom is a big bonus.
