I am a professional time lapse photographer and have been trying a range of cameras for this purpose. As a result I have specific needs from these digital cameras such as time lapse functionality and mass storage. I have had the i500 now for almost a year with only a few problems. Images are adequate for my purpose - surprizing for its little consumer lens. Its solid and takes the knocks of day to day use well. I've tested this camera for 4 days and i my first opinion was excellent design. But after taking 40 pictures (half with flash) the akku was empty.Alltough charging takes only 60min a 2. Akku is required (next 50€) .The shock came after i transfered the pictures to my PC (this takes quit too long for USB) because almost half of the taken pictures had a real poor quality. It's not my first camera because i took about 2000 pictures with my Olympus C-990 already. I'm really sad that i sold this ...

The image quality is very good, it doesn't seemed to be too red or too yellow, byt there is a lot of disadvantages. Problems: The battery life of the d cam is too short, even I bought two batteries, it cannot last for 1 day. The time for saving the photo is too long, if the photo is not yet saved, you power off the cam, that photo will miss. The time for to charge the flash from the battery is too long, especially when red-eye reduction is switched on. The button on the camera is too hard for ...

I'm learning to love the unit. It has a .TIF rez but would you believe that *no* mainline software will open Ricoh .TIF's !! You have to buy ArcSoft product, which was bundled with previous models - should be bundled with this too, for the price! This unit is otherwise good - the DC260 I used to have seemed to have crisper images, and from a lower pixel CCD, but the Ricoh is streets ahead in every other way. Recommended. Problems: When using a modem card, there is only the internal memory ...

well after all the hype, it falls flat. Hard to use, huge manual that must have been translated direct from another language to english because in parts it's just gibberish. Problems downloading to computer as menu and software included is not friendly at all. great concept guys but LOTS more work needed to make this a user friendly device and lots more work needed of the software bundle. PLEAAASSEEEE!!! Problems: downloading images to pc
