I have a canon DSLR and its the same old problem -not having your camera handy for that perfect shot. I decided to go for R3 despite all the 'noise' noise and got my new little camera yesterday :). First impression: 1) Really small 2) very light 3) amazing set of features! including manual focus in such a tiny camera. 4) flimsy lens cover blades as mentioned elsewhere in this forum. not a big issue. 5) Noise. I don't think its a problem. I took some test shots indoor at ISO 100 and it looks ...

Must faster than my Canon S60, with better ergonomics, better zoom, and excellent image stabilization. A longer review, and full size samples are here: geocities.com/tom_jhou/ricoh_r3.html Some reduced size samples are here: flickr.com/photos/tomjhou Problems: Blades that protect the lens are fragile.

this is my 4th DC now. since the reviews in the beginning were quiet low, for once it was good that it takes longer till Ricoh got their products in Switzerland... And: I an very happy with this camera with firmware 1.28. which you can download on their webside. I guess, the other, dissappointed reviews were based in non-upgrades firmware. The nois is existing in high ISO settings but not that noisy as described by others before the upgrade. My experiences with digicams are made with a Kodak ...

When you get this camera, you are really impressed by its compactness. When you switch it on, and try some quick shot, you're very impressed by its velocity. When you use the macro, you say to yourself, it's a really good camera. But when you get your photographs on your computer, you first think there's a problem with your screen. Not at all ! Pictures are simply ugly. There's an incredible noise all over the picture and this noise appear even with the sensibility set on 64 ISO. I don't even ...

Very Fast, Versatile and Handy little camera. Great for Point and Shoot. Great for Macros. Only downside is slightly noisy photos. If not enlarging or creating prints greater than 8R should be OK. I'm using this camera for snapshots, travel and my blog. If you want to see some sample R3 shots, can visit my blog at kooshlog.blogspot.com

I guess it's all relevant to the needs of everyone. For me, R3 satisfied most of my need since I was looking for an ultra compact point and shoot dc with long zoom range. it also has a few add-on functions which are not available on other dc. It has an exceptional Macro functionality as well. This is probably not a simple P&S dc, but by getting use to it and you can make some adjustment and you will get a nice shot and never missed any shot that you might regret. * After updating the ...

Other Digicams forum refers. Problems: I fail to understand how a company such as RICOH can put their name (and reputation) at stake by producing such a disappointing camera. The product has been barely launched and already people are talking about a firmware upgrade. ACCORDING TO THE SPECIFICATIONS PROVIDED, THIS CAMERA OFFERED ENORMOUS POTENTIAL. I for one, had placed an order and luckily was still able to cancel it. Based on the results so far, it would have been an utter waste of money. ...
